Florist costs?

I just received the quote from our florist. It's $1,220. We are not doing too much with reception flowers, just a lot of bulk ordered eucalyptus. My bouquet is under $200 which I don't think is bad. The bulk of the cost seems to come from the large amount of greenery. Is this price fair?

Much to m surprise as well, greenery in general isn't cheap! I have 8 swags of eucalyptus that we're using at the church and then re-purposing on the head table for $172 (not terribly expensive in my case), however my centerpieces are going to be $590 (babies breath & a couple roses for each jar). My grand total from my florist is $1400. I think a lot depends on the area where you live.

Hi Sarah! I don’t mean to be too nosy, but I am about 2 hours away from Dutch amish in Pennsylvania. Are you in PA with a budget like that?

just beginning my Floral search but it’s where my future in laws are coming from so maybe I can make them bring stuff to me if I can fit it in my budget!!

That’s honestly not a bad quote at all.. i was given a quote for $3,500 for bridal party, cake flowers, and a small arrangement on a cross. i’m definitely on the search for someone to give me a quote in the range you were quoted!

I’m in southern Maryland. I’m sure there are some similar places in that part of PA if you ask around! I heard about this place via word of mouth. Definitely have your in-laws ask around and see!

That sounds about average but keep in mind you are also paying for the labor for them to come setup and break everything down/ take away at the end of the night.

Try looking into have your local grocery store doing the flowers if you are looking to cut costs.

Greenery can be expensive, I’ve seen garlands for for $10+ a foot. When I contacted my florist I told her what I had in mind and what my budget was and asked what we could do with that budget, I knew I could t afford the greenery runners for the tables I wanted so I asked specifically for other suggestions to keep prices down. She was able to stay in the low end of my budget and I eventually added a bit more and still am under the high end of the budget I gave her. I’m spending roughly $900

That doesn't sound too far-fetched to me. But maybe get quotes from some other florists just to compare? Fresh flowers are expensive, no matter what you do. Consider some alternative or fillers that might be cheaper to mix with the eucalyptus.

I spend around 2000 but I live in Miami, so everything is a little expensive. For me that’s a reasonable price but depends on the flowers and size of the arrangements. My centerpieces are pretty big so that for sure affects the price

We hit up the dollar tree. I made all the arrangements for around 100. Including my bouquet, boutonnieres, and the centerpieces. Some of the flowers need to be reshaped because they get smashed. But a tiny hair curler and a little starch spray takes care of that, also some hot glue. I forgot about the hot glue. Forgive me. Insomnia and anxiety are viscous today.
