Florist budgets

Dayla, on October 4, 2017 at 3:37 AM Posted in Planning 0 17

I was just curious on what a lot of people thought was a reasonable budget for florists. I know everyone's budgets are different but I don't want it to look cheap yet I don't know what sounds outrageous for flowers. Our guest list is around 225.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

How many bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, readers, flower girls, ushers, groomsmen, (do you want your grandparents, godparents, or other VIPs to have flowers)?

Will you want flower petals for flower girls?

Will you be decorating 1 space (ceremony and reception in same area) or two spaces (ceremony and reception in different places or places where flowers can't be easily transported to reception)?

I had a significantly smaller wedding with a lot less florals than typical (myself, my mother, and my father have horrible allergies). We did a lot of succulents which probably contributed to my smaller total. We had a small BP (6 total) and no children but my grandma was our flower girl. Our total floral budget was $580 (tax and tip included) and that included an exotic, special order, out of season flower for my bouquet.

I couldn't justify spending a fortune on flowers. I wasn't dead set on a specific flower and went with seasonal flowers that fit my color scheme. I opted for a local flower market. I went the week before to pick out a specific arrangement with dahlias mainly. They arranged all the centerpieces for me and I arranged the bridal party bouquets with single stems that I ordered from the same flower vendor. For 25+ centerpieces, and 6 dozen dahlias, I paid less than $600.

Our budget was $2500. We needed one bridal bouquet, three BM bouquet, toss bouquet, two mini bouquets for mother’s, two corsages, flower girl crown, seven boutonniers, altar decoration (repurposed on sweetheart table), petals down the aisle, bags with petals for guests on the end of the aisle to throw as we exited, 14 centerpieces, cake decoration, card box birdcage decoration, and cocktail hour decorations. We had 130 guests and we paid a total of $2700. So just slightly over budget.

Flowers are my "idc" part of my budget. By "idc" meaning, they would be nice, but I am not a flower girl. We have a budget of 800 for flowers. We have not met with anyone, and honestly, idk how much they are or if that is realistic. I was hoping to DIY my centerpieces and all that, but not sure it is worth the small amount of savings at this point.

We got quotes starting at $700 for 4 bouquets, 6 boutonnieres, and 3 corsages. No other flowers what so ever. We decided to go with Sola flowers and will be paying $350 for the same thing.

Wow! This has been helpful already.

I have 7 bridesmaids, 7 groomsmen, and 1 flower girl. I’m more concerned about how much I’m going to spend or what’s reasonable for centerpieces for 25+ tables, plus my bouquet as well. Maybe some flower pedals on the tables. There won’t be much decorating at the ceremony because the church is pretty as is. Mainly the reception and the usual flowers needed for the bridal party.

Our centerpieces were 250 each for a taller version and 150 each for a shorter version. This was a middle ground price compared to other quotes I received. My bouquet was 225 and bridesmaids were 125. That's my bouquet on the head table for size reference.

Where you live will affect the price of flowers as well as the flowers you want. I live in the Texas Panhandle. Our ran us $865 and $200 for delivery and setup.

I had 4 BM, 4GM, my bouquet, 10 centerpeices, sweetheart table, entrance table and arch. I paid $3,500. I live in S. Florida and everything here is just super expensive!

My budget was low to begin with for flowers ($500) because I wanted to DIY it. But then the more I thought about it, the less I wanted to take on a huge project so close to the wedding day.

I met with a few florists, and I don't need any centerpieces because the venue provides those.

This is what I am paying: $1350

Included: Bridal, 6 BM bouquets, 10 bouts, 4 wrist corsages, and 2 altar pieces.

Flowers: bacarra roses, spray roses, stock, rannunculus, silver dollar eucalyptus, and others I can't remember.

I am trying to keep flowers to $500 because the flowers are not that important to me. Our centerpieces have no flowers and I'm willing to do super simple bouquets. I actually wanted to skip the bouquets but was vetoed Smiley sad

My scenario is very similar to Sarah and we are paying $2075 which includes set up, delivery and such. the difference could come down to type of flower and area

I spent about 11% of my total wedding cost on my florist. This includes renting vases and lanterns, set up, and delivery. I got my bouquet, three BM bouquets, 3 corsages, 7 boutineers, 15 centerpieces, and cake flowers for about $2200. I originally wanted to keep it under $2000, but I'm happy with what I'm getting. It's (surprisingly) one of the things I'm most excited to see!

I let the florist have free reign on what types of flowers/greenery were used - as long as they were seasonally appropriate/available. This likely helped keep my costs down.

My whole wedding budget is pretty small! My goal is between $3-4k. I'm doing DIY decorating at the wedding & reception. I've been using a local florist for small things here and there for a couple of years! They've told me to look into in season flowers, and that they're positive they can work within my budget, even as small as it is! My suggestion to you it's too call around to your local florists and see who will give you the best deal for your money. There's always someone out there who's willing to work within your budget. Or you could try making your own

I am paying $125 for my bouquet.

    $35 for bridesmaids

    $35 for SMALL low centerpieces.

    $10 for bouts.

I knew I didnt want to pay more than $50 for a bridesmaids bouquet. So I just called around asking for their price ranges for bridesmaids bouquet, some would not tell me w/o a meeting. I didnt want to waste my or their times.

We are having 200 and about 22 tables, and we have 6 in our BP plus boutonnieres and corsages for family. I think mine is around 1800 for my bouquet, my girls bouquets, all the bouteniers, and corsages, ceremony isle decoration and 20 carnation centerpieces with some flower decos and our table decorated special..... I say not to go crazy with centerpieces if you can because that's typically what adds up and do simple bouquets for your girls to help lower cost and also not having a million bridesmaids helps too.

I just saw your other post Dayla, you're probably going to be looking around 3k-4k for decent flowers (depending on area it could vary) for a party that large and 25 tables. If you want to lower costs to more like 2-3k possibly do a limited floral bouquet for your girls, my girls are holding a "green' arrangement without flowers (eucalyptus mixed with ruscus and limonium) instead of like mini rose bouquets, but I also love eucalyptus and half of my centerpieces will have it so it fit my theme. Another idea is to do half candle centerpieces and half floral, if you can buy the vases yourself at ikea or something this also saves on cost. And try to ask what the cheaper in-season flowers are and use those in your centerpieces with flowers. I saw in a few articles that half of your guests wont remember your centerpieces so I would try to spend a minimal amount if you would like to save money in this area. But if flowers are your fav then go for it!
