We are from Michigan but are having a destination beach wedding on the Florida gulf. We are deciding between two wedding dates...May 17 or October 4. Anyone have any advice of the amount of wind/rain between these two months? Thanks, in advance! (Also, please check out my other discussion DIY...

October 4th is my vote! I've lived in Florida for most of my life, and it's starting to get pretty warm in mid-May. I think the weather in October would be better for an outside wedding! Good luck and have fun!!

Lots of great info in the above comments! We do beach weddings on the east coast of Florida but I can still give you helpful advice for the west coast I think Smiley smile. May would be my choice because of what you mentioned about October filling up fast. October is a very popular wedding month and there are more tourists in FL in Oct. vs. May. You may find better hotel rates in May! We've also found that the weather is not quite as muggy in May as it is in October. Plus it will give you something to look forward to by planning your honeymoon for October...it's nice to break it up a little bit and give you another trip to be excited about.

Best of luck with your planning! I'm happy to answer questions if you'd like to email me at *****@**************************.***.

Definitely October. May can be hot and rainy. October is almost always pretty.

Hi Courtney! It looks like you've already decided, but having just done 2 May and a June wedding in Sarasota, October is the best bet! October 4th should be beautiful down here, and while there's always the risk of rain, it's much less of a chance. Congrats! Smiley smile

I'm starting to plan a wedding as well and have the exact same questions as you've had here. Mine won't be until 2016 but I'm torn between May and October, was looking at siesta key and then moved to looking in Clearwater. Please let me know what you settled on and how it all went, as any advice is appreciated! Congrats on your wedding!

I'm having the exact dilemma! I'm getting married in destin in May or October and can't decide! I want it to be warm enough to enjoy the beach and water, but not hot and humid. Just warm enough to enjoy the ocean and get a tan.

@Love113 Did you change your wedding date? Your avatar says 9/2015.
