Florals

I'm working on booking my florist... what are questions that I should ask them? Any tips are helpful too!

    * Are you offering your services to other weddings/events on my wedding date?
    * What would you call your design style?

    * Can we review your portfolio?
    * What flowers are in season on our wedding date?
    * How will the flowers be stored?
    * How will the flowers be transported?
    * Are there any additional fees?

Ask what's in season and if you want center flowers that you want are in bloom yet and how much will they cost and look at every height and different size arrangements. For centerpieces and your wedding party from bridesmaids flowers to the bountaires of the groomsmen and yours dont let the hoodwink on price. And is there any room for different arrangements for the same prices. And know how many tables Also ask how much for whole sell before you agree

Hi! I would bring an iPad or phone with pictures of what kind of colors and arrangements you’re interested in having. They can tell you if that’s possible or if those flowers are in season. I would also think about what you want to purchase from them. This is an example list of what florists can offer. I would ask for prices! If prices are exorbitant you could ask for a smaller centerpiece (for example they may quote you for an 8” diameter vase. If it’s over your budget ask what the price would be for a 6” diameter vase.) also the material of the vases can change the price. Maybe votive candles can be included for free? My bridal bouquet was originally quoted at $250 but I told her I wanted a smaller sized bouquet and showed her a pic and she changed the price to $85 based on the size and dimensions and amount of flowers and labor.

Good luck!!! I loved my florist meetings. Florals 1

A mood board would be good with your colors, theme, and mood (sexy vs bright). I would additionally ask for prices for delivery and set-up/ take down. Will they accomodate any rentals like vases, votives, stands. Would they be willing to light the candles (if there are no servers). Will they be wiling to tour the venue for layout (with or without you)? Will they do a mock trial (you would pay for the flowers)? Closer to date, they should give you the times they will be distributing bouquets and bouts if you and your partner will be in different locations. Last, I would ask for a contract which also has their payment deadlines.

In addition to everything above, I'd ask what their average price/ price range tends to be, whether they've worked at your venue before, whether they include a toss bouquet free or if it costs extra (you could totally just ask one of your bridesmaids to use their bouquet if it's not included), and what other decorative items they can provide (feathers, candles, glasses/ vases, etc.). Another thing I really love, especially if you have a lot of boutonnieres, is whether they could do those with magnets instead of pins. WAY easier, no holes in clothing, and less chance of injury.

I went with a florist who was very experienced working at my venue and I found this extremely helpful. Our first phone call sold me because she knew exactly where things could go and helped me visualize very well. So, if you can find a florist who has worked your venue often, that would be my suggestion!

Also send them your inspiration photos of flower styles, flower colors, and any details that you feel convey the style you are going for. All the florists I spoke with were impressed at my selection of photos and said that was really helpful to build a realistic quote in terms of amount and style of flowers I am looking for.
