Floral Options

Meagan, on December 10, 2019 at 5:26 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

Let me just state upfront that I'm a recovering tomboy so when it comes to wedding flowers I'm a little lost. I find it a little crazy to spend a small fortune on flowers that are just going to wilt and die. Are silk flowers tacky for decorations and bouquets? Any thoughts and recommendations are greatly appreciated!

I am doing an artificial bouquet from etsy for $24.99 because I do not want to spend a lot either. You are not alone lol.

There are different kinds of artificial flowers. Really good silk flowers can be more expensive than real ones. I personally think that super cheap faux florals, like Dollar Tree, look tacky. There are options in between though, like Michael's or Hobby Lobby, that can look great.

I think faux is a good way to go. A lot of fake flowers now look really good and they're cheap. I did fake for my bouquet.

As someone said earlier, decent silk flowers can cost just as much as real flowers. I'd look in to Ling's moments, they are really affordable.

First of all, I love the “recovering tomboy” description. LOL!!!

Maybe use a variety of candles instead. As for silk flowers, I don’t care for them at all! They scream fake! But If you want to go with something that’s not a real flower and won’t die, I would choose Sola wood flowers instead. They’re nice because they’re technically still “natural” and (to me) they look better than the silk alternatives. There are a lot of posts and pics about Sola flowers that you can search on here.

Check your grocery store. I’m doing mine at Kroger. $50 for a bouquet, $30 bridesmaid, $20 bundle of flowers for three centerpiece arrangements.... at a florist it would be normally $100-150 bouquet, $50 for bridesmaid, $60-80 for a centerpiece.
