Floating Candles

FutureMrsIsa, on February 15, 2014 at 1:00 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 7

Has anyone done floating candles in a pool?! Or gone to a wedding that had them? I've seen on pinterest they make little floating glasses with candles inside rather than just the candle in the water. What are your thoughts?

Pictures please if you have them!!!

Floating candles are usually pretty tiny. They would look a little silly being that original size. If you got them larger, or maybe even in your wedding colors, it might be really pretty. I've also seen them on little fake lilies in the pool, which is really cute. The problem is, by the end of the night, the wax has all melted and the candles have lost their cute shape. If they are just in a pool, I don't know what the wax will do to the filtration system. At that point, not only would they be less cute, they could leave you with expensive damage. I would stick to the lilies or the floating glasses on pinterest.

The floating candles always start out cute....then they all float to the same corner and there they stay for the rest of the night. It's beautiful in concept! But I would try to find something else they would be more "stationary" in the water - I was in a wedding and she had floating flowers and used magnets tied to string to keep them from moving around - they still moved a little, but not nearly as much.

See link above for light-up led lilies. No worries about melting with leds and these are made for the water. Save On Crafts has lots of other good options too!

Not cute. Try regular candles OR LED floating lights
