Floating candles

Jen, on August 3, 2019 at 4:46 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
Hi Guys,

My florist just canceled on me 4 weeks before my wedding. Smiley sad

I think I got the flowers figured out, but she was also supplying cylinders and floating candles to go in them. I was going to get these to go alongside the greenery garland on the tables. https://www.wholesalefloral.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=P-WDC0404&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIobmflMfn4wIVw5-zCh2chwkhEAQYASABEgISJPD_BwE

It says they are 4 inches wide and 4 inches high. I was going to fill them with water and put a 3 inch floating candle in them....does that sound right? If not, what size candle to get?

These are the candles

Hm three inch would be kind of large but I think that's ok too if you want it to look moreso filled

Do you need to do floating candles? I had garlands with candles of varying heights. The glass cylinders came from dollar tree and the candles came from Ikea since they had the best price of bulk candles in varying heights. But dollar tree may work too for the candles.

Those are pretty! Yeah I guess I don't necessarily need to do floating, I just thought it might be cheaper since most of the cylinder is filled with water instead of candle lol. I'm going to check out Ikea and Dollar right now

I was mostly concerned about getting the right size candle for each cylinder, I didn't know if making the candle 1 in shorter in width that the container seemed reasonable

@earias, do you know what kept your flowers alive in your garland? Were they water tubes or the green foam? I think the foam might leak and ruin the bare farm tables we are using

My florist simply stuck the flowers in the garlands. I think she used floral wire to tie them in place. But she didn't use water tubes or foam and they lasted a good week and a half after my wedding.
