Flip Flops for Dancing

Summervibes, on July 26, 2018 at 8:00 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14

Hi!

I have about 75 women coming for my wedding and was thinking of ordering 33 flip flops for dancing in case anyone wanted to change.

Is that too few of flip flops?

Thank you!

Depends on your crowd. If they are 75 women who will dance they may all want flip flops but if some of them are older and won't really be dancing they may not want them.

My cousin did this and almost all the women wore the flip flops just cause they were fun

I think that would be enough, as some individuals may not even hit the dance floor! This is a great idea! Smiley smile

I ordered 36 pairs and I have about 80 women. Again not everyone will need a pair, many of the older won’t dance and many may be wearing flat shoes already.

Check out the Dollar store online. It’s a set of 12 for $12. I ordered three sets! And they’re actually much better quality than I expected!

Thank you and I will. I was on Old Navy's website as well, but the Dollar Store sounds like a better deal Smiley smile

How do you know how many of what sizes to order? A shoe size range could be from 5-12, reasonably.

Several weddings I have been to last few years, women have pulled a folded pair of ballet slippers, or soft gel or fabric Chinese slipper out of their bags. No one has taken the many flip flops on offer. Maybe some the weather here, cool enough so most wear patterned stockings or tights. Which are nit great with flip flops. Won't hurt to buy them, if you are okay with possibly lots of extras. Most people who like to doch their heels can bring their own.

I have planned to order 5 of each size from sizes 5-11. Five of each pair is the amount that Old Navy will let you order online.

I ordered Rescue Flats, which come in a box of 20.

We estimate having about 125-ish people (about 50 will be women), and then I figure about 20 of those are older women, who will be wearing more modest shoes. I didn't feel weird only getting a box of 20, because I figure most people will dress appropriately for dancing, and will be less likely to feel the need to change shoes. By that I mean, if I know I'm going to a wedding where there will be dancing (like I am this Saturday), I'm not going to wear 5 inch stillettos. I'm going to dress as though they won't be offering me alternate footwear at the wedding. I know everyone doesn't think that way but I guess as a PP said, it depends on your crowd.

I think the more frequent trend I have seen, is people for reuseable and washable cloth mostly shoes. And fewer petroleum sourced plastics like flip flops. Once made of rubber and some plant fibers, they are strictly synthetic now. Were biodegradable, now not.

In that case, I would get a few more of the more common sizes( 7s&8s) — you don’t need a pair for everyone, to be sure, but 5 pairs of the most common sizes probably won’t get very far....unless you have a family of particularly large- or small-footed people

I think around 30 pairs are fine! We have about 75 women invited to our wedding, and I purchased 30 pairs of flip flops. Got them at Primark for 90 cents each, spent $27! I mostly purchased size 7-8 as I think this will be the most common size, but they run a bit large so they’re more like size 8-9.
