Flip flop basket?

Lauren FM, on June 26, 2012 at 10:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 11

I'm sure most of you have seen the idea on pinterest with the basket of flip flops that says "dancing shoes" or something along those lines.

Old Navy is having $1 flip flop sale this sat (6/30) in stores only.

My question is if any of you have or are doing this how many did you buy and how many of each size?! We are going to have about 80 guests, a little more than half females. I know not everyone will need/use them but I thought it'd be a nice touch in the bathroom next to the bathroom basket?

I wanted to do the same idea. I'm worried about how I am going to buy 100 of them because there is a limit of 5 per person I believe.

I had these at our wedding and the ladies loved them! I thought I was going to get tackled when I took them out! I didn't know how many to purchase so I bought one for every lady (not really necessary). If you have 40 ladies I would purchase 20-30 pairs. Most of the sizes (about 75%) should be 7 or 8 and you should always have a few 5/6 and 9/10.

I have about the same guest count/ratio as you. I bought my flip flops last year and I bought 32 pairs. I got mostly 7s and 8s, a few 6s, 9s and 10s and I think maybe two pairs of 5s and one 11.

I'm a little worried I won't have enough, but I think I'd rather have them run out than have any extra. It's not a requirement after all, so if ladies want a pair they should get up there quick and get 'em!

Oh, and I think I'd put them in view of the dance floor, not in the bathroom.

I made flip flop baskets and bought all mine at Michaels using coupons. We bought about 30 pairs of women's and about 8 pairs men's.

We bought chinese slippers instead of flip flops as we figured most of the lady guests will have pantyhose on.

With shipping they wound up a little over a dollar a pair. We bought 4 dozen for our 110 guest count figuring our elderly guests wouldn't wear them.

I'm doing ankle socks rolled up and tied with twine and set in a basket instead of flip flops.,, you get more size variation that way and they don't feel bad tossing them after. oh and CHEAP. lol

I am doing a flip flop basket as well. FH and I went to his friends wedding who had the flip flop baskets (that's where I got the idea) and I was sad when I walked up there and all the 9's were gone so I didn't get a pair Smiley sad I purchased my flip flops from Dollar Tree, they come in an assorted case of 48 pairs. I bought two cases, they are assorted sizes and colors.
