Flats or Heels????

Nicole, on July 21, 2021 at 11:08 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 1 30
What is everyone wearing down the isle? And is your wedding outside or inside? Walking down steps? Walking across a floor or grass?

Please post pictures if you’ve already bought your shoes!!!

1.5-inch block heels. I didn't want anything higher since I don't ever wear heels. Ceremony will be outside on the grass so I needed something that wouldn't sink in.

Our wedding was outdoors, so I walked on a combination of gravel/dirt road/pathways, grass/lawn, concrete, and hardwood throughout our wedding and reception. I wore nude 1.5" block heels and they were perfect.

I ended up changing into a reception dress for our celebration and wore 2.5" block heels for that; they weren't as comfortable as my shorter heels but still easy to walk and dance in. I would personally opt for something comfortable that you can wear all night and walk and dance with without worry about tripping or falling. Taller heels would have elongated my figure and looked more aesthetically pleasing for photos, but it would have been more difficult for me to get around and I wouldn't have enjoyed myself as much. The 1.5" heels and my ceremony dress were perfect.

LOVE those! Where did you get them?

1.5" heels are perfect IMO. Enough height to be a bit elegant but not so high that they put too much pressure on your forefoot and they are easy to walk and dance in and comfortable to wear all night.

Our ceremony is on a brick patio and our reception is inside, but we'll be walking around the property for photos. Even though I don't really love block heels, I'll most likely be going with one so I don't have to worry about tripping or sinking into the ground.

I just bought these for an outdoor wedding I'll be in as a bridesmaid, and have been considering using them for my wedding since I don't know when else I'd wear them, but I'm not sure if they're as high of a heel as I'd like for our wedding. My fiancé is over a foot taller than me so I can wear pretty tall ones.

Our ceremony is outside, with the reception inside! I'll be walking across concrete, so it'll be easy to walk in these. I plan on changing into a pair of blocked heels though for the reception. I love to dance, and want to make sure I'm comfortable all night!

My fiance is about an inch taller than me, so I'll be wearing flats. I was originally planning on white glitter keds, but I may switch to some sort of sandal or ballet slipper.

My wedding was all indoors (Vegas in June is HOT). I never wear heels, but I chose these 3.5 inch block heels! I probably would've been more comfortable in a shorter heel, but I procrastinated and my options were limited at that point. Even still, they worked out well for me!

Outside reception (as long as it doesn't rain)
Walking across grass up to a wooden floored gazebo

I bought a shoe with a metal heel versus a cloth/ leather one because they'll definitely sink into the grass. Flats or Heels???? 4

I bought my shoes at Marshall's for $17! They are flats. Even though my FH is much taller than me, I did not want to wear a heel because I like our current height difference

Bella Belle Willow flats, but purchased on Facebook marketplace. Our ceremony is outdoors and reception indoors but I’ll be walking on paved surfaces aside from some potential pictures.

I looked at Bella Belle. They’re great. How long did it take for you to get them after ordering them?

    Totally wearing flats.

I have small feet (women's size 5 / kid's size 3), so I'm probably going to get some plain kids flats since they're cheaper, like these:

I'm prone to spraining my ankles and being clumsy in general (sprained my ankles at least 3 times in college, twice after graduating, even sprained both ankles at the same time one time, and broke my right ankle falling down stairs before), so I'm just trying to avoid as much accident as possible even though I've also sprained with sneakers on before, haha.

I wanted to get something from Pashion Footwear (https://pashionfootwear.com/) because you can change from heels to flats and I do wear heels sometimes, but they don't come in my size. Smiley sad

So many cute shoes! I chose mine based entirely for sentimental reasons and they are in no way shape or form practical. Here they are:

Our ceremony is outside, on grass, and the lead up to that is tile and gravel, possibly some hardwood floors. The shoes are 10cm high. We've organised some pieces of live-edge wood to stand on for the ceremony so we don't sink in!

As our photos are in the vines (both ceremony and reception are at a vineyard) I fully intend to change into other shoes when I need to - likely for photos, possibly our first dance, etc.

I bought these little satin ballet flats from a dance shop since I know they'll be comfortable:

I’m 5’10 and the groom is 6’0 so I will be wearing strappy flats so I don’t tower over him. The way I look at it is that your shoes don’t really matter as much because the dress is so long and people will be more focused on your dress and might not even see your shoes at all.

I am wearing flats but I was in a bad car accident and have a close in height fiancé so heals are a no for me.
