Flash mob etiquette and advise Urgent!!!

Hello all, I would like to get your opinion for a wedding on August 30th!

I'm the sister and maid of honor for the bride to be ready who is getting married in a week. I'm planning a surprise flash mob dance for my sister's wedding, she mentioned once many months back that it would be nice and left it at that. So I organized it with~20 guests without her or her FH Knowledge

The plan was to make it happen just after my speech which is some time during the dinner.

My sister's, however, just recently made a change: guests can start dancing only after their first dance (like 2 hours after my speech). Initially the plan was that anyone can dance when they want but she changed her mind.

obviously I can push out the timing for the flash mob until later, but I prefer the earlier slot for several reasons:

1- everyone will be seated and focused on the stage so no effort to empty the dance floor

2- people (especially dancers) didn't have too many drinks yet Smiley smile

My question is, will this hurt my sister that we danced before their first dance? Is it a breach of protocol? How would you, bride-to-be's feel about it? What if it was something you really love?

I have to mention, my sister is pretty laid back and not too picky. Also, this is a destination, multi-cultural wedding so many of the traditions and protocols are, understandably, dropped or changed.

What say you? Thanks in advance for your help 😊

If you think she will be ok with it then go for it! I wouldn't not be mad or upset if someone did this before it was time to dance.

I would do it as you had planned. Make your speech, and maybe pretend like the DJ is messing up and interrupting the end of the speech by starting the music for your dance.

I think this sounds fine. If it was my wedding, I would love it!! It would be such a cool surprise! Then the wedding could proceed as scheduled, after the flash mob. I think it's not only really fun, but it's really sweet of you to organize this surprise for your sister. Good luck!

I think the plan works if you're really sure your sister wouldn't be offended. I personally think it sounds fine!
