fl May 8 Bride

Man this is tough! I will cry and then feel nothing. Talked to the venue about rescheduling.
Our venue is closed until 04/17 at the moment. But I feel like it would be naive to think everything will be ok by beginning of May with all that’s going on. All fri, sat, and sun are booked in the year of 2020. My MOH is hosting my shower at her moms house on 03/28. She is somehow convinced it will all be fine for my wedding but I know I am rescheduling. How do I tell her I don’t want the shower? I love her to death and I’m so grateful for all she has done but I’m so upset I think it will honestly make it worse having the shower. Knowing that my wedding is ruined. How do I nicely tell her? Wish all the best to you spring brides. I know we are all heartbroken.

Why you feel your wedding be ruined??? May is some time away for us to think positve. I say give it a chance and continue your shower you deserve it. However if you don't want it just let her knoe right now is not the time and having the mind set of you can do it later on...good luck and I wish you the best

I’m sorry, not trying to be negative. I just have a lot of people flying in from other states and I want them to be there to celebrate with us. If they are scared to come or my grandparents health could be at risk, it would be ruined for me. It’s the uncertainty of what’s going on that overwhelms me. Good luck to you and I wish you the best as well !

My Wedding was May 1, 2020 and I already had my bachelorette party and bridal shower as my maid of honor lives in another state and that’s when it worked out for her. Now my wedding isn’t until May 1, 2021.

I meant to add, it didn’t ruin anything it just happened Way in advance now. Me and some of my girlfriends have talked about having just a spa day or something once the new date gets closer. So I’m trying to look at it as I will have multiple times to celebrate. I understand though it is hard and a sad thing to have postpone our weddings

Mine was supposed to be in Florida on May 2nd. Didnt OFFICIALLY postpone yet but most likely as my venue is closed until everything settles down. They say they are looking at May 14th potentially. After considering the hurricane season, heat, sunset time and whatnot, we decided to move ours to April 23rd, 2021 (Friday). They didnt have ANY saturdays until June, which is when the heat would be unbearable. I thought I’d be devastated, but I actually feel much more relieved now. I finally see things that are not wedding related and My guests dont have to be scared to fly.

I already had my bachelorette and shower, and I think it’s totally fine to have them ahead of time (who knows what will happen next🤷🏻‍♀️). Your wedding is not ruined at all, trust me!!! I was SO stressed out until I finally moved it, and surprisingly I feel MUCH better.

My venue is closed until April 1 and I’m a wreck. I can’t get alternate dates and I’m sure it will be postponed. And I’m pretty sure your shower won’t be well attended. I’d personally cancel it.
