Fixing smushed/bent foam glow wands?

Emilyt5258, on July 27, 2024 at 11:14 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 2
Hi all, wanted to know if anyone had advice! I ordered a bunch of those foam glow wands, and they came in crushed. I'd have to pay for return shipping, and I'd rather just try and figure out how to salvage them. Does anyone know how I can return them to their shapes?

I've tried heating with a hair dryer and while it helped a bit, it didn't do much overall.

This is what was shared by the AI chat, but these don't look much different from what you have done.

Fixing smushed or bent foam glow wands can be a bit tricky, but here are a few methods you can try:

    1. Heat Method: Use a hair dryer or heat gun on a low setting to gently warm the foam. This can help the foam regain its shape. Be careful not to overheat, as this could damage the wand.

    2. Hot Water Soak: Submerge the foam wand in hot (not boiling) water for a few minutes. This can help soften the foam, making it easier to reshape. After soaking, gently bend the wand back into shape and let it cool down

    3. Manual Reshaping: Sometimes, simply bending the foam back into shape with your hands can work. Do this slowly and gently to avoid tearing the foam.

    4. Weighted Flattening: Place the foam wand under a heavy object (like a book) for a few hours or overnight. This can help flatten out any bends or creases.

Have you tried any of these methods before? If so, which one worked best for you?

I'm not sure what those look like. But maybe you could wrap some individually or in sets using a ribbon or cloth and then heat them up -- or even leave them sitting for a long while.
