Today I received an email from my venue/hotel stating that they had to change my room block booking info(the info that the guests need). That would be fine if my invitations weren’t already printed!!!! 😡

I called them and they explained that their new system didn’t integrate with the old system that they used so they had to assign all new block names. I asked if they will be reimbursing me for reprints and am waiting on the director to get back to me. Ugh.

What was was your first planning mishap and how did it turn out?

First venue (first choice venue) we contacted with our date they had a recurring event and it might be happening that day. (They let us know last week the date was available. 🙄 Thanks but no thanks.)

Second venue we contacted had hyped up their remodel that was going to be done in February. We went in March. They hadn't started. When I asked about the remodel, they said they had scrapped the plans. The remodel plans were the only reason we scheduled the tour.

Third venue we contacted. We drove 45 minutes to see it. They told us they have a recurring event that same weekend every year... even tho they didn't have it this year. So it might not be available. Even tho I had originally given them the date before I scheduled the appointment.

The fourth venue I tried to tour wouldn't take a booking a year in advance. They wrote my name down tentatively, but told me I couldn't actually put down a deposit and book it til 4 months out. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

The initial florist recommended by my venue was not at all getting on the same page. She wanted $250 for my bouquet alone and was always putting extra bud vases and bouquets in the price of center pieces, charging over $2000 and when i told her I wanted less, she put more on the next proposal. Eventually, I found the little local florist that is one block from my venue has perfect bouquets for me and my bridesmaids with vases for $65 a piece bring my total cost for flowers to just over $600.

I went ahead and messaged her, I also sent pictures of what I wanted, and she will be getting with the venue to look at the space for indoor decor. Hopefully she can do that within the next week or so that way I can get a price as far as flowers go. That is my last "big purchase" I have left to make.

I'm sure they can work something out with you. They wouldn't have a very successful business if they only answered the phones from 9 to 5. Haha

We went to book our venue for May 18th and while we were deciding between our top 2, the one we were leaning towards got booked so we bumped the wedding up a week to accommodate that. No biggie! We got to marry one week earlier than expected! Haha

I am planning a wedding 8 hours away from my home and I found that there are some great online venders that deliver flowers right to your door and for a better price. I am using gallone&I.com. we had some send to my house as a trial to see if we liked them and then ordered them for the wedding. I have also heard good things about sams club
