I am going for a first tasting. How many did you all do before you found your caterer?

Actually none!! We went to a wedding and FH had their cake. He said this is our cake also. We asked the bride where she got her cake at, PUBLIX of all places. So we went ahead and choose our wedding cake. FH wanted chocolate cake.

Catering and Cake people were recommended by my DoC.

    Cake/Food tastings were 8/25 and 8/26.

Everything is coming together quite nicely.

Publix has AWESOME cake. We've definitely considered going that route!

We didn't do a tasting for our caterer, it's a very popular local barbecue place that we knew would be a hit cause everyone in both our families love it! We do have our first cake tasting tomorrow which we are hoping to be a success Smiley smile

Our caterer was provided since with had our wedding at a resort hotel but we still did a tasting. Make sure you tell them what you don’t like and they will change it. Also consider any allergies people might have an how to change the food a bit.

We tasted 2, but from a budget decision we had pretty much decided before the tasting. I had 3 scheduled and cancelled the last after the second (cheapest) was amazing.

I would have scheduled them differently, if I hadn't been planning an out of state wedding and trying to cram as much into 3 days as I could.

Just one! The first one we tried was the most cost effective, had lots of experience catering at our venue and didn't charge for tasting. We loved the food so we didn't even bother making appointments elsewhere.

We only did one, and it was a hosted event by them, so not even a private one. But a couple of months before that I went to a bridal fair and there were a lot of food vendors there with samples, so we tried all of them! Good luck at the tasting!

We did 2 and had a couple more ready to schedule but we loved the first lady and the food so much that we pretty much decided on them right then and there. We did go to the second scheduled tasting a week later but it just didn't come close and we were comparing everything to the first one anyway so we booked the first one right after the second place's tasting.

One for food and two for cake. It was a pretty easy decision for us. We went with the vendors that fit our budget and had good communication. The food was great too.

We tasted 6-7 caterers and the one we went with ended up being the last one!

We decided on the first caterer. Delicious bbq is what we wanted and got it well within our budget. Every other bbq place was way too high in price, I didn't even want to meet with them. Same with the cake, 1 tasting and we paid in full that day.

Our venue only allows in house catering so we did the tasting after we booked the venue!
