We plan on doing a first look.

This is a hot topic on a local wedding FB group that I'm part of, and several photographers have chimed in to say that they typically get the more emotional shots with a first look than without.

Obviously, every couple is different and the choice is a deeply personal one. The classic aisle shot is always a winner!

I don't see anything wrong with doing or not doing a first look, but I just really like the idea of having some private moments with my FH before the ceremony. Fortunately, we're not being forced into one by logistics or anything like that, but regardless, I'm super excited to do it.

I can't wait for first looks! That will be my favorite part of the whole day And I love your idea of the detachable skirt for 2 different looks. *Applause* That will be fantastic.

View Quoted Comment Oh, ok I see. Maybe your photographer can get a few at some point during the reception instead. I know others do this to get sunset photos, or evening photos. I think it’s common to take breaks during the reception to get those “wow” shots.

I didnt want to either.

We had a non traditional day so I wanted something traditional with the walk... but the convenience of getting photos knocked out before the ceremony and just being able to enjoy the whole experience without interuptions.... along with having just a moment to ourselves was amazing and well worth it. I'm glad we did it. I wouldn't have wanted the other way now looking back.ni loved all the little moments we were with each other all day and felt way more connected

For my first wedding we didn't see each other and I wouldn't say I regret it, but I walked out to him wearing a t-rex head lol. Sometimes those surprises make the best memories.

We did a first look and it was sooooooo worth it.
Look at that face!!!
It also meant we could get more pictures done sooner so we could eat earlier lol

We’re definitely doing a first look for a few reasons: 1.) I like the intimacy of seeing one another and being able to fully embrace the moment together and the huge step we’re about to take in life 2.) we have time to truly view one other, our attire, etc. vs. only getting a quick glance while walking down the aisle with our nerves and other distractions 3.) we want to get as many pics completed ahead of time (with only a few afterward) so that we can join in on 30-40 mins of our cocktail hour

We did the first look and it was fantastic for getting our couple pictures done without being rushed. Then we separated, I put on my veil and the moment I got out of the car to walk down the aisle, it all felt so different and amazing. The first look took nothing away from seeing him as I came down the aisle.

I loved our first look. Not only did we get some amazing shots but it was a way for H and I to have some alone time together before the craziness. 100% no regrets.

We are not doing the first look because my fiancé wants to be surprised when I walk down the aisle and I agree with him. I want him to be surprised when I walk down the aisle the first time

We did first look and I’m so glad we did. That moment alone together was still my favorite part of the whole day and the look on his face was priceless. It didn’t take away from the moment of walking down the aisle and we enjoyed cocktail hour with our friends and family. It’s definitely a personal choice but we are glad we did it.

I'm doing the first look with my brother. Our parents are gone and I think that will be a special moment between the two of us. I know it will my time to cry it out and hell remind me my parents are looking down. I want to surprise my fiance since we have done nothing traditional in our 11 years together, I cant wait to see him down the isle with our children and become him wife.

I'm glad I did it. There was so much going on that it was good for me to take pics already beforehand
