First Look

Here’s our timeline for our daytime wedding in case it helps:

11-11:30 ceremony
11:30-12:45 cocktail hour (we either take pictures here or spend time with our guests depending on decision)
1-4 reception

My biggest pros are that we can spend time with guests since it is not an all night party. It would be so nice to get pictures done before and just enjoy our time after the ceremony. It will help ease his nerves (he is starting to get anxious and he does get emotional easily.. he thinks it could help him/me not cry so much at the ceremony). The one single con is that I feel as though it may ruin the moment I walk down the aisle. He will see me before the ceremony, so there will be less anticipation. I feel like it won’t quite be the same. However, since we are emotional, maybe the moment will still take over us and it won’t even phase us that we’ve already seen each other?

Looking for advice from people that have done the first look. I know the practicality is nice and more convenient but I’m specifically looking for advice on how/if it affected the ceremony. Do you regret it? Did it feel just as you imagined walking down the aisle should feel or was it not as special since you’ve already seen each other?I want to do the first look so badly because it seems like the obvious choice, but this one downfall/uncertainty is holding me back from deciding.
