First Look

Although I am stressed about having enough time for the photos during our cocktail hour, I definitely wanted him to first see me when I walk down the aisle. Our photographer strongly recommended a first look, but I won't give up that moment.

I am doing a first look because I don't want to rush thru photos and I just wanted to have that intimate moment

We didn’t do a first look and don’t regret it at all! I loved seeing my husbands reaction when I was walking down the aisle and I think the anticipation was great!

We're absolutely doing a first look. I like having the more private moment, and I also want to get all the group/couple photographs done before the ceremony so we can actually attend our cocktail hour and not have to be away from the reception taking pictures.

It’s really important to my fiancé to wait to see me, so we will do that

We did a first look and I’m so glad we did. We got to greet all of our guests during cocktail hour and stay seated during dinner. Also it didn’t take anything away from walking down the aisle or make it any less special. We both bawled as I walked down.

My FH and I are doing a first look. Our wedding is going to be in November 2019 and the ceremony will be at 5:30pm. Because of this, it will be dark by the time we take pictures after the ceremony, so we decided on doing a first look

Daughter absolutely wanted a first look because she expected to be very emotional and didn't want to completely lose it at the ceremony. They did it and both thought it was awesome, and the photos are amazing. However, the look on SIL's face (captured by the photographers) when daughter & her dad first appeared in the doorway of the ceremony space is also to die for. He's not one to show much emotion and he was definitely wiping away tears, so it did not seem to take anything away from that moment. They were also able to get tons of photos done before the ceremony, allowing the wedding party to participate in some of cocktail hour and everything was just more relaxed. For them, absolutely no regrets, it was the perfect choice.

No we're not doing one. Neither of us is a fan of them. We both want our first view of each other to be seeing each other as I walk up the aisle to him. I can understand why some have them, to save time for pics etc...just not for us

We're doing a first look! We really want to get as many photos as we can and also do not want to feel rushed and/or miss any shots we really want. Our photographer was happy when we changed our minds (fiance was against it at first) and is excited about having so much time. I also look forward to being able to enjoy more time at the reception and our dinner.
We'll still take more pictures after the ceremony and I'm sure we'll both be emotional as I'm coming down the aisle.

Definitely doing one. I want that private moment with just us. The rest of the day/night there will always be someone else around and I feel like that moment will really capture the significance of the day.

Nope not doing first look, I want him to see me when I walk down the isle for the first time in my dress. I am not the most traditional, but I do want that classic moment in the church.

We are not doing one - I really like the traditional aisle being the first time - also our ceremony is at 4 so we don't have too much time beforehand & we're having a campout wedding so if we run behind on cocktail hour it won't really mess us up too much. also because of the style of the wedding & the venue if we did a first look guests would probably be around for it

I struggled with that too because I do want to take photos with family but I still want the first time my FH sees me to be down the aisle. I think we're just planning to do photos after the ceremony. I hope it all works out.

I gave my FH the option and he decided he wanted to do a first look. We'll do some of our pictures then and I love the idea of having an intimate moment with my FH before the craziness of the rest of the day

We are doing a first look. I wanted that private moment with FH before we get swallowed up in wedding madness. It might be the only time all night that we have alone together until it's all over.

Plus, it gives us the added bonus of being able to take most of our photos before the ceremony, and I won't be so emotional at the altar if I can see him first.

We're not doing one- I'm saving the first look for my dad.

We're doing a first look because we know he won't be able to cry in public/with so much pressure. Allows him to really show his emotions in private - plus, so many people say that it doesn't ruin the aisle moment because it's just a different kind of reveal
