A good tip for kissing photos that my sister and BIL received from their photographer during their engagement shoot: keep the kisses light. Just touch your lips together lightly...no heavy smooching or it will just look awkward. Of course, this is so not recommended for the kiss right after you become husband and wife. That kiss should be as big and juicy as you want it to be!!

MrsBdeG & Kat, FANTASTIC tips. Didn't even think to kiss longer for photographer! (omg, ROFL cuz "spider crab" image ) Gipperkm, oh yeah. "Mashed" kissy faces would look terrible.

BRIDES: Don't over-stress this. Some pics you thought you'd love you won't. But others will bring tears to your eyes. (HIGHLY recommend 2nd shooter though. Ask 1st shooter to hire or suggest. A lot less money and two will capture a variety of shots).

Lisa, I cried shopping in 2016. After 8-10 stores and very few long-sleeve gowns with ball gown or A-line skirt, I finally found Martina Liana's Blake bodysuit (and Morilee skirt). Now, sleeves are in. Check out Martina Liana dresses and bodysuits. That designer allows customization; I added lace to cover shoulders (good), requested off-shoulder but that didn't work very well (should have left alone). Hope that helps and enjoy shopping!

Sure, how about... "It feels a little awkward to kiss right in front of you and I'm not sure we want that in our photos. Could you step to the side while pronouncing our marriage and inviting us to kiss? We'd really appreciate that."

Our officiant was cool so I just blurted out how weird the first kiss looks with the officiant right behind couples. She laughed. A gentle reminder about special requests (to any of your vendors) a day or two before your ceremony wouldn't hurt.

Anyone else have ideas on how to gracefully ask the officiant this?

Thank you & you're welcome! I never saw this tip mentioned anywhere and it always bugged me about wedding photos (honestly, I wasn't obsessing over our "first kiss" photos but they turned out great because we didn't have a bunch of people in the background).
