First dance

Ours was almost the whole song (to my husband’s chagrin 😬). I really liked the song and wanted to hear it almost all the way through 😅


Definitely take just the two of you into consideration about this. If you’re both like my husband and don’t like a bunch of eyes on you, it’s totally cool to keep it to 1 minute - 1 minute and half. If you don’t mind the eyes, agree on how much of the song you want to hear/dance to and go from there.

We danced for the first minute and a half of the song, and then cut it there. I'm not much of a dancer, so I initially didn't want to do a first dance, but my husband did, so he suggested we do a shorter first dance. This was the compromise that my husband and I came up with, and it worked well for us!

We danced to about 2/3 of the song. I think they faded it right before the bridge and final chorus. (Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Chorus, fade out). We did comment that it was a little long and felt a bit awkward.

We danced to a slow, profound song for a 1.3 mins and fast more exiting song for another 1.3 mins.
I cut the slow song in half as it would’ve been boring after a while and wanted to get guests excited and dancing after the fast part.

We danced for 2 minutes. The whole song was 5 minutes and we didn’t want to dance that long.

Ours is fading out at about 2 mins- this gives people enough time to watch and not get bored, but also the photographer enough time for some good shots

We're doing our full song (about 3 and a half minutes). We're both huge dancers, love the song, and we took lessons so we can work in some sequences to hold everyone's attention (and get great pictures lol).
