First dance

Kimberly, on August 4, 2022 at 5:18 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 8

In October 2022, my husband and I got married with only my parents and his mother present. To celebrate our wedding and 1 year anniversary, we are having a party (very similary to a wedding reception) this October. I still want us to have a 'first dance'. I do not know how I want the DJ to introduce the dance as we are not renewing our vows, and seems weird for the DJ to introduce it as a 'first dance.' Does anybody have suggestions?

Call it a “First Anniversary Dance.”

I don't think you need to call it anything specific. I d keep it simple - now our beautiful bride and groom are going to share a dance. Or something along those lines.

You could have it announced as the first dance of the evening Smiley smile

“Ladies and gentlemen hopefully you have enjoyed your meals. It is now time to ask the couple of honor to open up the dance floor with the first dance of the evening.”

I was thinking this way too. "We begin with the first dance."

Yep. It is the first dance anyhow. There does not seem to be any etiquette problem and people know this is a late celebration.
