First Dance Songs

Deidra, on January 7, 2021 at 3:24 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10

My fiance & I both have two left feet & little to no sense of rhythm. Any recommendations for a slow, but not super long first dance song?

Most couples are content to do the high school slow dance sway. Your dj can adjust the length of the song. Browse youtube for first dance playlists. Do you have a song you both like?

We're working on it, but are struggling to find one we like equally. We've found songs I really like, but he doesn't care for & vice versa. So I thought I'd ask here.

We haven't picked one yet and are still considering dance lessons. However, I found this youtube playlist pretty helpful and to me the dances they show seem doable even for people with no dance experience like us (but we haven't tried yet).

I like a number of these songs. I just sent the playlist to my fiancé and had him pick his three favorites and I picked my three favorites hoping that we have at least one that we both like. This also helped me because I feel with everything wedding related there always seem to be at least a thousand options and it's just overwhelming to me. So, I just decided we pick one from this list instead of listening to a hundred songs and getting all confused. We talked about what each of us liked but somehow haven't made a final decision yet and kind of dropped the ball on it as there was so much else to do.

Anyone else here considering lessons? Has anyone tried an online tutorial to learn how to dance?

We danced to Amazed by Lonestar. And it was also a high school sway, as in we didn’t even move. 😂

If you do a quick google, you can find a ton of lists for just about every type of genre. My FH and I are talking about dancing to "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica and I honestly forgot it existed until it came up in said search. We'll probably just do the high school sway. As much as I'd love to be one of those couples that choreographs a whole dance, my FH adorably has two left feet.

    I think I found the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Br_-4wPy7eo

I'll ask a few neutral parties if they think we can get away with slow dancing to it or if we need some dance moves for it, but I think I can get away with it.

You can have your DJ shorten your first dance song. That is what we did.

Youtube has several playlists of first dances and music for other parts of the day. Plus your dj can shorten any song if you ask them.
