First dance song

I put DH in charge of music, because, somehow, after 7 years together, we did not have "our song".

So he chose, "Your Song" by Elton John.

(Which is hilarious, because I love Moulin Rouge and he can't sit through the first 10 minutes.)

It was great, we had a moment, but I freely admit I will probably not even think about it being our first dance song. (I'll wax poetic about our first baseball game together!)

My FH and I won't be dancing to it (we are dancing a traditional waltz to the famous waltz from Murder on the Orient Express) but we consider it our song in our relationship

We didn't have a song before we started trying to pick, either. We chose Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up" and it's become our song

We never really had “a song.” When we first started dating, Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran had just come out and my FH said it reminded him of me, so that’s the closest we’ve ever actually had to a song. I thought we’d use that, but he said he didn’t want to because he felt like everyone does Ed Sheeran and he wanted to be a little different. So we listened to about 10 different songs that I picked and we picked “I Don’t Dance” by Lee Brice, which is what I wanted to go with from the start of our relationship 5.5 years ago! FH doesn’t like country but he does like that song!

We will most likely be dancing to Heaven by Kane Brown. I love him and FH doesn't do country but when I played the song, he actually liked it, among other songs by him. I think Kane Brown is probably the only country singer he could listen to without wanting to tear his hair out lol.

I let FH pick the first dance song and he chose "At Last I See the Light" from Tangled. I love Disney and he knows it so he chose his favorite Disney song lol. I wanted All for Love by Sting but here we are!

We danced to Leela James - All Over Again

We're torn between This Will Be - Natalie Cole and You Send Me - Aretha Franklin.

We've never really had "a song" but my FW is mostly in charge of music, and said both these songs remind her of us. The plan is just to listen to them both and dance around the apartment for the next few months and just see what sticks, haha

We danced to "Love and Some Verses" by Iron and Wine. I recorded the version we used when I was at an acoustic concert. It was very special.

We are doing I Swear by John Michael Montgomery.
I made a list of songs for my FH to pick from, and that’s the one he liked the most. It’s simple and acknowledges that relationships take work.

We are doing Matt Stella prayed for you. Every Sunday my fiance and I listen to country music While planning our wedding, and one day this song came on the radio. And we both light up because we knew it would be a perfect song for our first dance.

Ours will be "Then She Kissed Me" which is a KISS remake of "Then He Kissed Me" by the Crystals from 1963. KISS is my favorite band and FH is a big fan, too, we wanted something not mainstream LOL

My sister and her husband just did this song at her wedding 2 weeks ago. I had never heard it before she started to talk about it

I don't know what ours will be. We have a few we like and just need to pick one.
