First Dance first thing?

Jehnna, on May 20, 2019 at 3:37 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 13

I am in a mental roadblock when it comes to my reception timeline. I cant decide if I want our first dance right after our grand entrance, or after dinner and before father/daughter dance and mother/son dance. I see pro's and con's of both. Any input or experience you have is much appreciated!

After our entrance we are going right into all of the dances ( first dance, mother son, father daughter and an anniversary dance) this was we can enjoy the rest of the night with everyone rather then stopping and announcing specific songs.

We are doing our dances after dinner as our way of opening up the dance floor.

I feel like going into the first dance right after the grand entrance seems the most natural to me!

We are doing our dances after dinner.
    1) We will be the first ones done eating. Everyone else can remain seated and finish their dinners.
    2) We think by the time we finish with our dances, most people will be done eating and like a PP said, will open the dancefloor for everyone.

    3) We also hate being hungry and watching people dance while we could be eating. Lol.

It depends on the time of your wedding. Dancing after the grand entrance makes sense, but its also dinner time and I don't want to keep my guests waiting.

We are doing everything right after our entrance so that everyone can enjoy the rest of the evening. We will do grand entrance, first dance, parent dances, toasts, then dinner. Cake cutting will be after dinner at some point.

Initially i would have wanted it right after our grand entrance but i really like the idea of letting the guests eat after our entrance instead and not leave them waiting for food during all the dances. I think everyone will be more in the moment with full stomachs and not while anxiously awaiting food Smiley smile

We are doing grand entrance, then dances, then dinner, then toasts, then shoe game, then opening up the dance floor.

We're jumping into the first dance right after introductions. Part way through dinner service we'll have speeches and father-daughter dance.
