Finley Sottero Dress

I absolutely love this dress! The lace is amazing. My problem is I have a very conservative family and I need to change the neckline to a turtleneck. At this point I was just going to get a custom dress with the same sort of bottom made and switch the top section to something more modest with a keyhole back. I found one person on Etsy who will do it (but she hasn't responded in a while - and I don't think she'd appreciate me asking where she bought the fabric [she had mentioned it's a brussels lace]). I have a local dress designer who would make it, but doesn't have similar lace.

this is the dress I love!

If anyone knows where I can buy this lace or something extremely similar please let me know!! Thanks

Here is another picture of the lace on a different dress!

A dress designer should be able to find you something similar (I am a fashion designer and usually find similar laces). However you mentioned how much you truly love this dress, I understand your family is conservative but you should wear something YOU love and feel happy in. It's your day after all! If you truly want to, you could add a nude mesh or a cover up for the ceremony and then remove it for the reception. I just think that it's such a beautiful dress, I would just hate for you to have regrets later or feel unhappy the day of your wedding.

Be true to who you are. Wear the dress you love and do not change your personality/style/tastes to please others. Otherwise you will have regrets. They don't have to like your dress but they have to respect you.

Do you have the dress, or are you thinking of ordering it? If you have not yet put the order through, or if you have but not it has not been delivered: MS will alter some dressed at the factory for you, and one such would be adding a panel to the v in front, up to a standard necklace neckline. Mine, they made it without the standard train, then made a detachable train at back midriff. If you have your dress: MS sells a many- button (down the back) jacket, and may have one for your dress . They also sell matching fabric capelets with small modesty panels, so your seamstress can attach the V panel in front, and you wear the shoulder cover of your lace when max coverage is wanted. Last, they sell limited numbers of yards of fabric for sewing matching items. One of the pages on the website blog tells you about custom work, panels, jackets, capelets, and materials. And any of their salons will give you the Dear Maggie address to request such things.

This is at the bottom of the Finlay dress description indicating fabric is available by ordering, for neckline alterations.

What an amazing find Judith!! I would see how much extra fabric you can request!!

Also - have you thought about looking at bridal separates? There are a lot of gorgeous bridal tops out there that might be easy to pair with the stunning skirt from the Finley dress!
