Finding photographers!

How did you guys find your photographer? And how much were they? What kind of package? This is the hardest thing for me while planning... I’m having such a hard time figuring out our photographer and my husband is no help! Ladies, help a girl out please!

It depends on what you are looking for honestly. We got lucky and one of my sister's friends is a professional photographer. She is doing our wedding for only $500. That includes 8 hours the day of the wedding, a bridal shoot for me in my dress that we are doing in January (a month before the wedding), and a couples shoot with my FH and I that we are doing soon. If you are looking for a less expensive route, try and see if anyone you know is a photographer or has connections to a photographer. We really lucked out with ours b/c we were willing to spend $3,000 on one before my sister connected us to her friend. We've already paid her but we plan on giving her way more as a thank you after the wedding!

I graduated college in May and got engaged on my celebratory grad trip. I reached out to so many photographers and was blown away by how expensive they were. I ended up contacting the photographer that did my grad pictures (she had moved so I didn't originally think that was an option) and she had an awesome and affordable package. Engagements, Bridal, and 8 hours of coverage for $1800. She's also AMAZING at taking photos so I'm very content with my decision.

I searched based on the location of my wedding, which is not in the same state/area as where I live. I also had a max price of $2000 & found someone I loved who was below that price. I also checked out their website and social media pages to see pictures and other reviews.

I went to a bridal fair, which is where I met the photographer we ended up booking. For 8 hours we had 2 photographers, and it was $3299 with an engagement shoot included. Our pictures turned out amazing, but we just did not get along with her. If I had to plan my wedding again, I would absolutely pick someone else.

I definitely want to be able to get along with our vendors. I wouldn’t be able to hire them if I didn’t like them. I’m so sorry you didn’t like her.

Check thumbtack that's where I found my photographer. We're having a small wedding and we were able to get 3hrs for $350 (single shooter, access to digital album of our pictures, and a decently quick turn around time). He's not a professional photographer but he has been doing photography (on the side) for about 15yrs and weddings for I think 9?
