Finding an outfit for my not so feminine MOH..HELP!

Dyanne, on November 18, 2013 at 2:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

I've been trying to figure what my MOH will wear...

The dilemma is she is not very feminine. She will NEVER wear a dress. I want her to be comfortable but still want something feminine since she is MOH and will be standing next to me.

My only ideas have been something "Ellen" inspired, she is gay and has that same sort of style. A little boyish but not boyish... If that makes sense. lol

My colors are teal and gold.

Any ideas will be great. I just want something that's a happy medium.

Could you try something like a jumpsuit with flowy legs?

This is really the best I can do... its a hard one! Maybe with a tuxedo blazer? Glad you're trying to do right by her! Smiley smile

Have you asked her if she is willing to wear a dress? Do you care what she is wearing as long as it fits the day? If your first choice is for her to wear a dress ask she may be willing for your big day. If she's not maybe you could tell her your colors and how dressy you would like her and ask her to give you ideas. That way it would be something she's comfortable in.

There are actually great websites with advise about this. First of all, look at OnaBicycleBuiltforTwo.com. It's a lesbian wedding website, so you'll see the whole range of what gay women wear, from dresses to suits to that "Ellen-like" look (known as "soft butch").

I've read all these websites when I was helping my spouse figure out what she'd wear (my MOH wore a pink dress).

Is she asking for your input? maybe she already has something in mind. as long as she is comfortable, does it really matter what she wears?

Do you have groomsmen? You could have her wear slacks that are the same color as the men's slacks, and then a teal blouse.
