Finding an officiant on Thumbtack

I would search them on google too or social media and see reviews there too. As long as they file your marriage license legally that would be most important.

I don't know if every state does this, but the state I am licensed to perform weddings in provided me with a license stating I have the legal "power" to officiate. Depending on your state you may be able to request to see this from the officiants you meet with. I haven't used Thumbtack before but I agree with Kristen that you may want to Google them for more reviews. More research is better in my opinion.

Thanks all! Unfortunately, a lot of the officiants I look up don't seem to have a ton of reviews on Google or Facebook but I find that they do have a business. I guess I'll have to do more research if I do choose to go with one person.

We didn't get our officiant from Thumbtack but we did choose our honeymoon photographer from there and she was amazing. We obviously were not able to meet with her beforehand but we did she her portfolio and were happy with her work. We emailed back and forth for over a month leading up to the honeymoon shoot so yeah it was a risk but thankfully, it all worked out for us. I have nothing bad to say about the process and found no catch.

We found our officiant on thumbtack. He had a ton of good reviews, we clicked for the phone call, and he was listed on a local church's website. He was THE BEST and we are so happy with the choice. I reached out to 20+ officiants on WW and The Knot and couldn't find any.

Thumbtack is pretty reputable but just like any site you should still be careful. A friend of mine who I served with in the military is licensed and will be officiating for us but I have used Thumbtack to find our wedding planner and our engagement shoot photographer. They've both been wonderful thus far.

Thanks all! The lady I spoke with has a very nice voice, seems very kind, etc. I'd meet with her of course before moving forward.
