Finding a shop to try both dresses

Chelsea, on December 28, 2021 at 9:35 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 2

Hi all!

I went to 2 bridal shops in California that carried different brands and found 2 dresses that are competing for the title of The Dress, but to make the final decision, I'd like to try them on back to back. I'm back in DC now and I'm finding that stores that carry one brand (Marchesa) don't seem to carry the other (Martina Liana). The only place I could find that did was Kleinfeld's... which like ok twist my arm I'll go to the dress emporium if I MUST ( Smiley winking ).

Does anyone have experience with finding a way to try dresses that aren't in stock at some stores??

I ran into a similar situation when trying on dresses. I learned that, unfortunately, if the bridal store does not carry the designer’s line, they will not be able to get the dress in for you to try on. Your only option would be to find a store that carries both lines. if they carry both lines, they can get both dresses in for you (if they do not already have a sample in their store to try on), but it often times requires you to pay a fee (typically $50-$200).

That's what I assumed... I might just have to plan a trip up to NY when things calm down again, then!
