Finding a seamstress/tailor

45 miles sounds really close to me. Seamstresses are hard to find in a lot of areas.

Take a look at Yelp for your area and get a consultation. Unlike WW/TheKnot, vendors there cannot remove reviews so they are more objective and reliable.

When you do find a seamstress, please take the time and expense to vet them thoroughly. Request references AND A PORTFOLIO!! And respectable seamstress will have pictures of her work - especially if she is creating outfits.
