Finding a Big Letter for Fireplace?

Kelsie, on May 24, 2019 at 3:26 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7

So our chapel has a beautiful stone fireplace and we would like to get a big H to place on it for the ceremony. Has anyone found something similar to the photo? I have found one on Etsy that I like, but the price is a little much. And Hobby Lobby has some, but they are only about 2 feet tall.

What about making your own? Anyone with wood skills that could cut it from a big piece of ply wood and you could paint it?

Also just noticed you wanted an H. I'd grab some 2x4's from Home Depot and screw them together and have the wood cut at the store to the height that you want. Then you can paint it. Pretty simple DIY.

I want it to be a little more detailed with the serifs, but I don't know of anyone right off that would be able to cut something more detailed.

I was also looking at wooden H’s! Have you tried Amazon? Not sure exactly what size you need, but they have some nice ones on there

Etsy. I just did a quick search for large wood letters and a few popped up in different sizes. This one comes up to 36" high.

I would check out local antique stores- vintage signage is always a hot commodity. If not, do you have someone you can enlist to make one for you?
