Financial stress!

Cassi, on August 19, 2019 at 10:19 AM Posted in Planning 0 23

Gahh!! I am so excited! We get married in 54 days... BUT we still have about 25% of our wedding to pay for! I have ran numbers over and over and over again so i know we can do it but gosh seeing the numbers count down like this is so stressful! Anyone else getting overwhelmed with meeting vendor deadlines?

Again, we have this in the bag, we absolutely can afford it just stresses me out lol. On a die note I started my centerpieces, a little annoyed because my flowers I ordered came in two different shades of blue -_- but i pl;an on painting them to make it work. These DIYs are the only reason I am still sane! lol

Yeah, I made all my final payments at 30 days out and it hit hard! Luckily now everything is paid and we are 11 days out. So much less stress after the final payments were done.

We paid towards some balances over the summer to avoid that heavy hit at the end.

We only have the final payments for our venue and officiant to go. It definitely feels like a lot when we look at the numbers but we have it and extra to spare so I have to keep reminding myself of that. Like you I'm more freaked about the last minute things I need to work on. I need to play around with our centerpieces, put our favors together, and still need my veil and our cake topper to come in. We had to take a break from wedding planning this weekend while our son and future daughter in law were in town so now I am stressing realizing I still have a ton to do and the days are flying by. Good luck as you finalize preparations..

I am with you on this! This is the most stressful part of it all! I know we will get it done but it still drives me nuts if I think about it too much.

Our vendors aren't that bad, we booked a cabin and about $2000 of what we owe is still for that. of our actual vendors we only owe 250 to catering which we are waiting to get our final numbers till we pay, Our DJ and bar (both of these won't take final payment until after wedding) and then our bus $525! So wedding vendor wise we are practically done. Just cabin is whats killing us, luckily we have until the day we check in (October 10th) to pay this off! we will probably end up still paying $500 that day when we check in. lol

Right!?!?!? Yeah we probably only owe about 2k in vendors still and about $1300 can't be paid till night of wedding as is which I know we got but still so stressful! lol I hate the small details, we are doing a DW and its killer trying to make lists on lists of what needs to be packed what we can do beforehand vs what needs to be done in cabins when we get there. LOL Good luck to you!

Yeah luckily our venue is paid off (My parents took on this expense as our gift). We still owe:

    $525 to Transportation

    $100ish to HMUA

    $510 to bar

    $250 to catering

    $350 to DJ

    $100 to officiant

and about $1900 to our cabin

The HMUA, Bar, DJ and Officiant won't take payment until that night so thats $1060 (i'M SURE THEREs MORE i'M NOT THINKING ABOUT) that we can't pay till that night. Cabin we get to pay till we check in which is October 10th and so that just leaves $775 thats due by next month so its not bad at all I just hate having vendors I can't pay till that night. That stresses me out so much! lol I also have no idea what my alterations will cost but thats not due till September and will probably only be like $200

That would be nice, it stresses me out knowing I can't pay them till night of. One more thing for me to remember or disperse to someone else and hope they remember. Also hate having to keep that in my savings account haha

    54 days!! That's so close!!

I feel your pain. We just starting planning in July..the wedding is this February..so we only have our initial deposits down right now. I'm freaking out. It's doable and FH is super calm about it..but I'm always stressed when it comes to money.

I really shook my fiance up last night. He hadn't really been involved in planning. So we spoke about the open bar or not thing....when I started to break down the numbers he started calculating right with me and was shocked at the costs associated. His first taste of loosing sanity.

Yeah its crazy, we got engaged a little over a year ago so being 54 days away is nuts!

Thats a long time, best suggestion start paying weekly on it if you can. Thats what we do but I wish we started paying earlier lol. My FH and I are opposite of you and your FS. My FH is super bad with money (loves amazon) but stresses about money like theres no tomorrow. Normally I take each day as it comes (I'm pretty frugal) so I stress sometimes when its big amounts but not too often. But this stresses me out because 1300 has to sit in a savings account until after wedding lol.

Yeah my FH hasn't done much I just tell him what his share is each month. Yesterday was my first time telling him what we have left and he was like "oh... shittt..." lol

I'm overwhelmed not knowing are there going to be 120 or 150 guests at our wedding, which drastically changes the cost. We too have the money to pay for the full amount of guests, but I can't help but wondering how much catering is actually going to cost.
