Finally have my dress appointment!

Laura, on May 31, 2019 at 5:29 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 21

I finally have my dress appointment at David's Bridal set! i'm going this coming Wednesday. I called my MOH, and on the phone with her made the appointment on the website so I knew she could make it. I sent my aunt the information to see if she still wants to go. I'm super excited!!!

Congrats! My wedding is October 9th and my dress appointment is June 27th. Thank goodness for places like David’s Bridal that have quick turnaround times for wedding dresses. I started to get worried reading things like “dress should be ordered at least 9 months before the wedding” 😳😳😳 Haha! Nope!

I hope you find the perfect dress!! ♥️

Congratulations!! I was getting a bit nervous and hoping I wouldn't have to settle for something I don't love. I was bummed beyond belief when they discontinued my favorite dress though. I didn't have the way to get there when they still had it. I have a few others I do like a lot though!

I've been scouring the website to try and narrow down what i'm interested in. The only thing I know is I don't want a ballgown or a super tight dress.

Manage your expectations with David's Bridal. I saved like 40 dresses that were supposed to be in store including my favorite. When I arrived they had one rack of dresses and only 1 or 2 from my list. My favorite wasnt available at any David's Bridal. Customer service was terrible as they double booked my consultant with another bride. I left completely deflated. I went last minute to two other bridal shops and one had so many beautiful dresses. I found a dress I would never had expected and the service incredibly special. I also would only take 1-2 people that you trust that know your style. Maybe only your mother. Too many opinions can be really confusing and upsetting. If you love a dress and your future in-law tells you she doesn't like it, what are you going to do? Find another way to include the others in the planning. Good luck in finding your perfect dress.

My mom and mother-in-law have both sadly passed away, but I definitely still appreciate the advice. My niece who is my maid-of-honor is going, and she knows me better than anyone other that my fiancee, and My aunt is also going. She was my late father's sister, and my late mom's best friend. I trust them both. I have only David's as an option, because they're what I can afford, since I have a line of credit with them. I have heard stories like yours though, so i'll definitely going in on guard. If it doesn't work out Torrid had a dress I like ok enough, just don't want to settle

Im sorry for your loss of your family members. What kind of dress are you looking for? I have a beautiful dress that I bought long ago but engagement was broken off. I never had it altered so it will fit any height. I was planning on standing on a pedestal, take some pics, and trying to sell it. It's so beautiful but I'm getting married in Jamaica on the beach and this is too much dress for that. Im a first time bride at 44! Tight lace-like bodice (off shoulder) with sheer lace sleeves (actually a spring dress) with a full tulle skirt with small hand sewn daisy appliques that match the bodice. I paid to have those added for dramatic effect. Also has a detachable long train. What size are you? It's a tight fit. It's a little like the dress Carol Hathaway wore on the show ER. Look it up. Its an Eve of Milady and I paid a lot for it and would wear it if my venue was different. What's your budget? Ive dreamt of wearing this dress but would love for someone to enjoy it. For David's, you will probably find something that will work. Try the Vera Wang line there. Let me know if you have interest in the dress I have. As an alternative, look at the resale sites. You can get some nice dresses at major discount and at least one site will allow you to send back if you dont like it. The benefit of mine is that it has never been worn or altered. Good luck.

I'm a 14 or a 16 in street clothes, so i'm thinking i'll be an 18 or a 20 in wedding sizes. i'm an older bride myself, i'll be 50 when I get married. As much as I say it's not what I want i've watched enough Say yes to the dress to know there is always a chance i'll get one LOL My budget is tiny, that's why i'm going there, I have a credit card for there, and i'm also getting my niece/MOH's dress

I got mine from David bridals too!! Since I bought one of their newer dresses in petite mine is taking 5 months to arrive since it's considered a special order. But just keep in mind that they don't carry all the dresses in their stores, apparently each David bridals gets a certain selection of dresses, so one may not have what you want but a different David bridals in a different area will.
