So there's a story here.


This dress has been in my closet for over a year. My fh helped pick it out and even choked up when I tried it on. However, when I went back the woman who accessorized it put heavy rhinestones and a thick heavy veil with it. I'm only 5ft tall and felt like it swallowed me. It didn't feel right at all. My plan was to shorten the dress and use it for our rehearsal party or after party - after all my fh loved it. But then that wedding got cancelled/postponed due to Covid.
Even with all the dress drama and nine working out, it never occurred to me to revisit this dress. Until, I put the high low in the back of my closet waiting to return it. I saw this dress and I thought to myself why can't you be The Dress? None of the others have worked out - why can't it be you?
I'd been talking to a stylist at BHLDN about how to style the high low. I sent her a note and explained everything - and described the dress in the back of my closet. She said she'd love to accessorize this dress for me. She's 5'1" and totally understood my feeling about the dress wearing me instead of me wearing it or drowning in accessories. She thought the dresses weren't the one because this one was it. I sent her a photo of it. She sent back a mood board where delicate pearls replaced rhinestones, a knee length plain veil replaced the heavy cathedral lace veil, and simple white satin shoes replaced the bedazzled stilettos.

Needless to say I loved her accessories!!! So, I'm wearing the dress he's seen but loves. And he has no idea. I hope you guys understand. I'm just glad that is finally become the one!
