Final Headcount?

Sabrina, on July 6, 2017 at 2:57 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

How many guests show up? (not RSVP, I know getting people to respond is tough)

If we invite 200 how many should we actually expect for our final head count? I've heard anywhere from 83% to 100%!

Expect 100% unless they tell you otherwise. If they don't RSVP you need to call, email, text. Whatever it takes to get confirmation.

This is why you have an RSVP. You put a date on it about 2 weeks from when you need your final count. You wait a couple of days, then start calling.

Invited 150, 138 sat down for dinner. You need to budget for everyone and chase those who don't rsvp.

We invited 70guest, 62 RSVP yes- and 59 show up to the wedding/reception. We requested the RSVPs a month before the wedding (giving up 2 weeks for the people that never responded)

Tomorrow is our deadline for the RSVP's. We invited 251 and are at 139 confirmed. Still waiting to hear back from 81 more. We will be contacting everyone this weekend who hasn't responded.

We invited 265 and had 220 RSVP yes, with two no shows so we had 218 guests. We gave every single adult a plus one which many did not utilize, so that's the main reason we had 45 people less than were invited.

Definitely plan for 100%. Don't pick a venue that only holds 150 and then invite 200 hoping for 50 declines.

My RSVPs are due in 11 days, still waiting for 110 out of 180 responses. When we finally get out exact number that's when I'll start buying exact numbers of things for the # of tables needed and edible favors. Right now if everyone else RSVPs yes we'll have 165 guests and that's what my florist is planning for until further notice.

Months ago I had told my caterer we were inviting 150 and she said "okay, so you'll probably have about 120 show up." So it sounds like she was going by a rule of 80% probably showing up.

    I'm confused by your question.

You should invite as many people as you can host properly. You should expect that 100% of them will accept, you should give your caterer that exact number, and you should expect that 100% of those who RSVP'd "yes" will be in attendance.

It really depends on if you have a maximum or minimum at your reception venue., our max is 240 and min is 150. We gave everyone a plus 1 and knew ahead of time some people couldn't make it but it is protocol to still send them an invite.

Expect 100%. With that being said, I had 65 out of 75 people say they were coming until the week before. Then we dropped to 52.

@EM Sorry about the confusion. I wasn't sure how to phrase it.

Essentially, we have a beginning guest list of 220. We would like to get the final total down to 150-170. We gave +1's to people we know won't have them as is custom. We will cut the list down before sending STD's (the venue can hold 300). Most people say they had 83-85% show up. One friend said she had 100%. I'm just curious as to what we can expect, based on others experiences. I have 5 months before we even send STD's
