Figuring out the logistics

Calling all my sewing prodigies out there!!
I dont intend to use a seamstress as my dress fits perfectly and the few minor tweaks I want done (removing sleeves and replacing straps) are things I am more than capable of doing myself. HOWEVER, while I love this dress I would like to have a long train and not have a slit up the leg for the ceremony (ts hard to tell from my pictures but this dress does have a slit up the leg lol). So my plan is to buy a bridal skirt to wear over my dress and then remove it for the reception. I absolutely live the idea of this and just think it will make life so much easier and add a bit of sexiness to the dress at the reception.

What do you guys think of this idea? How should I execute this? Give me some pros and cons!! ( I really wish I had a better picture of my dress but you gotta work with what you got 😂 last pictures of the skirt I would like to pair with the dress)

Makes sense to me! This is a pretty popular look on Watters, people love the flexibility of separates, just make sure if the skirt is a different maker that the colors match.

I am not handy with a sewing machine, but I would think some type of ribbon or sash that can be buttoned or snapped together over the dress's skirt might work.

Thanks for your feed back! 😊 Yeah I'll definitely be making sure the colors match, luckily I think I'll have a little bit of wiggle room with it because of how the bodice is a bit on the silvery side!

This is a great idea. I agree with not having the slit showing for the actual ceremony.
