Fiancé is sick

Meaghan, on September 5, 2018 at 10:04 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 11
9 days out and my fiancé is sick. He has had a cough and sore throat for the past week and we thought it was just allergies or the fan being too close to him at night but last night he had a fever and felt very sick. And suggestions to prevent myself from getting it? I took vitamins this morning, should I take cold medicine to prevent me from getting sick or is that bad to take when you’re not sick yet? Every time I get a cold it lasts about three weeks and always turns into a sinus infection I really don’t want to be sick for the wedding

Cold medicine doesn’t prevent you from getting sick. The best thing you can do, is stay hydrated, take your vitamins + extra vitamin C, Airborne or Emergen-C every night before bed, and get PLENTY of sleep. Sleeping in separate beds doesn’t hurt either, so he’s not breathing on you all night. And get your FH to the doctor! 1 week sick already and getting worse...time to go to the doctor.

Hi Meaghan! I'm so sorry to hear that your fiancé is sick! Since your wedding is in 9 days, they should have a bit of time to get better before the wedding! Some helpful tips to avoid getting sick are to wash your hands often, drink lots of water, take some vitamin C, and even exercise moderately! Also, another preventative measure could be to sleep in separate rooms for a bit to avoid catching what they have. I really hope this helps! What else do you have left to prepare for the big day?

I agree with PP, if he has been sick for a week its time to get checked out. For you Vit C and stay hydrated! Also Lysol your entire house just to try to kill anything before you get it. Good luck!

Don't take cold medicine if you're not sick. That stuff doesn't even cure you when you are sick.

My magic trick to prevent getting sick / cut sickness time is Oregano and Goldenseal pills.

Just be careful not to take either for more than 2 weeks.

Oregano is natural, but is nature's closest thing to an antibiotic. Both Goldenseal and Oregano boost your immune system like crazy.

It works super well and you can get both at a local health food store. I get mine from GNC

Could he get into a doctor? Just in case it's strep or the flu and he needs medication to shorten the life of the sickness? Or for a sinus infection, something that will cure it? That's what I would do. I agree with vitamins! And OJ & lots of water. For me, washing our sheets & towels and cleaning the bathroom & kitchen really seems to help get the germs off and not spread.

He should go to the doctor if he’s been sick for that long! For you to prevent from catching it, try ginger tea (or ginger shots are even better, if you have a juice bar or health foods store nearby). Ginger is a huge immune booster and will help fight the germs off before you come down with it. Also if you’re sharing a bed with him, you should sleep separately until he feels better!

Oh no! I’m getting married on Saturday and am currently sick. Drink plenty of water, and alternate between taking emergen-c/airborne and zicam. I got sick on Sunday and finally feel like I’m on the mend. Make sure you rest a lot (I know it’s hard this close to the wedding!) and don’t put your body under too much stress.

FH should go to the dr. - now he has been sick for way too long.

Scrub the house air it out if possible and lots of bleach.

You take vitamins, lots of vitamin c, drink lots of fluids, rest, and if possible use a neti pot so avoid the sinus infection.

Omg I was just sick with this. It lasted 11 days!! Started out with sore throat, then runny nose and fever and then coughing up crap for 6 days. I’m still not at quite 100% after 13 days. I’m so mad at whoever got me that sick during the summer! Hopefully he starts getting better in the next day or so ❤️
