Fiance doesn't understand matching concept

Haley, on February 24, 2020 at 5:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 15
We are having a very rustic and casual wedding. Our colors are dusty rose, brown, white, and grey. He is wanting to wear jeans, a white dress shirt a darker grey vest and a teal tie with brown cowboy boots. His groomsmen are wearing the same shirt and jeans, brown shoes, brown leather suspenders and a dusty rose bow tie.

I'm okay with the real tie but I'm thinking it should have a casual pattern. The ties he's looking at are very formal and we know black and brown do not match. This is what he is looking at:Fiance doesn't understand matching concept 1

These are what I'm picturing:Fiance doesn't understand matching concept 3

I should also add that originally he was actually picking out stuff like what I'm saying. I feel like he doesn't know what he wants and honestly he has a very difficult time understanding what people are saying.HELP!!I know it's his day too, and he should feel comfortable in what he's wearing, but... I feel like it's just not right.

Unless he picked your dress, you shouldn't be picking his tie. It's really not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Ok, thank you ladies. Maybe I'm just a little bit of a control freak. I'll apologize to him for making things more difficult on him.

I think what happened is when we went to Mens Wearhouse, th ed sales guy was kinda saying his ideas wouldnt really work well being that he wanted to do a plaid/check shirt with a floral tie. I thought it looked fine and a lot of grooms are kinda going for that more mismatched patterns look these days. It's become a thing! But the sales guy I think kinda changed Ryan's mind.

Honestly I cannot remember anyones tieOut of all the weddings that I’ve gone to. Half the time I don’t even remember the guys that they married. I much more remember the dress and the dance floor and decorations, but definitely not the grooms tie. I’d say talk it over with him but I think you should just let him pick this one

Ok that helps. I think if he wants to wear floral with checking plaid he should go for it. I just dont want him picking things he doesnt want because the sales guy got to him at Men's Wearhouse

Just let him pick. It's his day too. My husband wanted a green jacket and pants..so I found him some. He got a brown and black vest and a brown tie. It looked nice. He then ordered green shoes and a green belt. The shoes and belt aren't the same green as the jacket and pants..which is kind of not great..but it was his day and he was so excited about it all. So I said nothing. He did end up deciding to wear a brown belt though. Haha. It will all be fine and not matter in the end.

I'm a control freak too so I understand completely. I had to just let it go. We just got married this weekend..and everything everyone says is true about the small stuff not mattering.

Although, I have to admit..im worried about the pictures because my husband and his wedding party wore their boutonnieres on the wrong side..but the parents did not. Oh well!
