Fiancé 1st Christmas gifts

Laura, on December 5, 2020 at 2:17 PM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 17
What are you buying your fiancé for your first Christmas together engaged?

I want to buy something sentimental and can’t think of anything. I normally write my FH notes in the mornings, so I was thinking of engraving a coffee cup with a handwritten note from Etsy but my handwriting is awful lol, so looking for other ideas!

Oddly enough, we got engaged on NYE and married three weeks ago, so we haven’t had a Christmas where we were just engaged! I think the coffee mug idea is adorable, bad handwriting or not!

I got my husband the new PlayStation 5 for Christmas & I'll probably get little things like shirts, socks, soap etc. This will be our first Christmas married ❤️

We weren’t planning on doing Christmas gifts due to the huge amount of money we are spending on the wedding. But, since it got postponed because of Covid, we are going to get each other just a few gifts. Movie night has become a regular thing at our house since the pandemic, so I am going to get my fiancé the sound bar and surround sound speakers he’s been wanting for our living room TV. I also bought him the complete series of That 70s Show, I because he used to watch it on Netflix aaaalllllllll the time, then they suddenly got rid of it. I’m not sure if there’s a week that’s gone by that he hasn’t mentioned how bummed he is it’s not on Netflix anymore 🙄 I thought about getting him a masseuse table, because he looooooves getting massages. But I’m afraid that would just encourage him to ask me for massages more often, so I’ve decided against that one 😂

Last year was our first engaged Christmas, and I got him a smoker because he had been dying for one. He used the one I got him for about 6 months and fell in love with smoking and bought himself a much larger one. That gift benefits me so much now it’s not even funny haha because he smokes a LOT of food.

That would be so cute! This is more so for our anniversary but I got FH a moon globe with his favorite picture of him and his mom who passed 10 years ago. I think something personal is always good.

My guy is very specific on gifts- EVERYTHING that he gives & receives has to serve a purpose. Last year was our first Xmas being engaged. What did he want? A lock to his RTIC ice chest that he takes with him on wild land assignments (he’s a firefighter) during the summer. Romantic right?? Lol!

The the mug seems ok. However if you hand write notes then having YOUR actual handwriting on the mug makes it special (whether you have a nice hand writing or not). If you’re thinking about another gift idea, what would you give him if you weren’t engaged? I don’t think this gift has to be any different.

We did not have a holiday season engaged (Oct wedding) . But for our first holidays married I gave him the same think as this year. Then it was finishing grad school, then paying for the wedding = no money. Now, loss of income Covid style. I knit him an Irish knit style popcorns and cables and stuff sheep's wool sweater when newlyweds. This year's yarn is from goats ( not Kasamir), I am finishing up a supersoft zip up sweater. Each for my holiday, the turning of the year. For 1st Christmas, I gave him stationery and a fountain pen, to write me love letters, I said. This Christmas, he needs a new lathe motor. It is nice we have two holidays and celebrate both. But at least one gift is usually deadly practical, given the state of the budget.

I *thought* DH was going to propose on Christmas, but he proposed on NYE. (The earrings he got for me... came late. This is kind of his MO.)

By the time we got to Christmas again, we were married!

...So we splurged on our wedding album. It was delivered to us, but we asked MIL to wrap it for us, so we could be "surprised".

We weren't going to do gifts since we're saving for our wedding, but FH changed his mind lol.

He renewed our gym membership, and I'm getting him a new protein shaker bottle, and water bottle.

    Just something simple and practical.

My husband wants the new PS5, but he said he can wait for his birthday or our anniversary (which both fall in February), a small projector for movies, new running shoes, robe, etc.

I pre ordered it from Gamestop back in September. I just so happen to get lucky and stumble across their site as soon as they released the pre orders. I did have to spend almost $800 and get him a bundle though because just the systems sold out so fast Smiley xd

You could get the star map of the day he proposed to you! I don’t know if you’ve seen those before or not, but they are so cute & sentimental! The mug idea is cute too. You may not think your handwriting is the best, but that’s what makes it unique/more special.
