Fh's ex-wife

Do you think it would be inappropriate to ask FH's ex-wife if she would like pictures of our kids and grandkids all dressed up?

The divorce was final in 2006 and our son and daughter are all grow up (my bonus kids). Son is married with 2 little boys and they will all be in the wedding. The ex-wife remarried 10 years ago and the 4 of us are always cordial at events for the kids and grands...
It's not likely our kids and grandbabies will be dressed up like this again anytime soon. I do not want to make her feel like I'm trying to rub her nose in the wedding or anything, but I thought maybe she would like some cute pics of her babies and grandbabies, too?
Is that wrong or insensitive? My 1st husband passed away, so I didn't have to navigate the shared parenting scenario until now...I was really just thinking it would be something to give to her. Thoughts?

For a tiny backstory, every year when we get family photos taken at Christmas, since our daughter is unmarried and still in college, she is in the pictures, too. I always make sure we get a couple photos of her by herself and give one to her mom and stepdad.

I personally think it’s great. Weddings are a great opportunity for formal photos like that. My exhusband ask to be invited to our wedding. (No way). It seems like a tradition.

🙂 thank you, Leslie. I agree on inviting an ex, that's a whole other level and definite no! 😆

My picture sharing started our 1st holiday together when my bonus daughter was talking worriedly about her future life events and how her parents and their spouses would get along while there together. So far, 2 years of it, we've all done fine. Even grown children need their minds put at ease that the people important in their lives will make a genuine effort to put any differences aside and be supportive.

I have no kids and he has 2 grown kids. We have granddaughters and I don’t think his kids care. I’ve asked them to call me nana so I don’t take exes title. But the oldest calls me grandma nana. I figure as long as they all know they’re loved and you love them, that all that matter.

Agree 🙂 the more love and support the better! I have 2 daughters (10 & 7) and FH has a son (26) and daughter (21). It's been really cool watching the older 2 include the younger 2 and make them feel like family...I was actually scared of it going the other way in the beginning. My youngest still struggles with the idea she's an aunt at 7 years old to a 3 year old and 1 year old nephew 😂

Good luck, Nana (I just think that is so cute ❤)

That's a lovely gesture. You all seem to be on good terms. If you have doubts, ask your FH or step children about the photos. If they are getting copies, then they could always ask to print some for their Mother.

If everyone gets along, I think this would be a truly wonderful gesture.

I don't think that's inappropriate at all. You're offering pictures of the kids and grands, it's not like you're saying, Hey, do you want a picture of your ex and his new bride with the kids and grands. LOL... My FH and his ex always share pictures with each other of their son. The only ones I find a little inappropriate or off are the ones where she sends herself and son in them. I always wonder why she thinks we would want pictures of her. LOL... But, whatever.

I think you offering pictures is a beautiful gesture.

Thank you all very much. I grew up with crazy "step parent" experiences (I've had 3 step moms...) and truly want a better environment for all of our kids and grands.

Have a wonderful day, ladies Smiley flower

I think that's a nice thing to do actually, to give her photos of her kids dressed up nicely. would be nice for her to have that as a keepsake

I don't know a mother who would not appreciate your thoughtfulness in sending her nice pictures of her grown children, and her grandchildren.
