My wedding in nontraditional anyway, but is it weird to make the "cake" banana bread so that FH will actually take a bite with me. (PS. I LOVE CAKE🤣)

Carrot cake is good too! Maybe I'll just serve only desserts 🤣

You can make the smallest tier banana bread ahah. And the other tiers as other cake if you still want to serve it to other people. Or perhaps do a small cutting cake and serve something else for guests. Banana bread sounds good though aha.

I could. But he will probably only take a bite and then be done.

I think I'm really liking the idea of the bread in Bundt pans

We also hate cake, but we are actually doing on tier of cake and the rest fake, and then having a sheet cake pre-slices an individually wrapped to make it easier

That’s still fine. Someone else might want some too. Plus, there’s always cake leftover regardless.

I'm not a fan of the "store bought" cake, so I definitely thought about doing cheesecakes!

Nah! Go for it! Banana bread is freakin delicious! I have a KILLER recipe if you would like one. I’ve seen pies used instead of cake too. Best that I’ve seen is an ice cream Sunday.

    Hi Chrystal,

Banana bread sounds super delicious! What a fun personal touch! If you have your heart set on having cake as well you can do both. Traditionally, many weddings have both the Bride's cake (the big white one) and a Groom's cake (traditionally chocolate or fruit) Why not have the traditional wedding cake and have a groom's banana bread "cake" to accompany it? You can cut both cakes at the reception, which will make for great photos, and you can feed each other a piece of whichever cake you like better.

I would say go with your gut and do whatever you want. As long as you provide some type of dessert you will be fine.

My fiance isn't a fan of cake. We are doing a very small cutting cake for pictures, then the rest will be cupcakes, cookies and cheesecake bites.

Banana bread really doesn't scream wedding to me. You can have cake, cupcakes, cheesecake, assorted pastries/cookies, or even like a brownie sundae bar. I don't see banana bread as a main and only dessert. Maybe in addition if you had an assortment of items!

PS my FH doesn't like cake, but he doesn't like sweets hardly at all anyway. So he said even though he doesn't like cake he'll take a forkful and that cake was a necessity for our wedding guests, void of his feelings towards it!

One bakery we tried had a banana bread/cake that was soooo good! I think as long as you have a variety of desserts for guests they’ll be happy! Or instead of cutting into your cake you can cut into a cute little banana bread and serve the cake to guests.
