FH hated my makeup trial

What should I tell the makeup artist who is all about looking fierce/intense on your wedding day?

I should add that I have a contract with the artist already because she does great hair and eye makeup, just not so sure about the foundation part.

I'd like to see a head on photo as well, but 100% agree with PP s. It's for photos, if a mua goes too light it's going to look funky in pictures.

FH will get used to it. Don't let it hurt your feelings of be scared you won't look beautiful. If you don't wear that much make up it probably just shocked him a little. First time FH walked in while I was going contour the look on his face was priceless. He STILL asks me "Why don't you just use the eyebrows you have..." Because I want OTHER eyebrows...Duuh Smiley smile

Do what makes you happy. Sorry, I hid my previous comment, bc it was slightly too harsh in terms of " you shouldn't give a crap what he thinks, etc..," but I realize that some people really care about what their fiancé or anyone thinks. I am totally opposite. I just don't care, as long as I like it ( I am talking in terms of looks, clothes, etc..,)

with that said - tell your MUA to go easy on the foundation part. There are PLENTY of high end companies who make very light foundations ( I use smash box -wouldn't consider this "high end" brand though. I also hate thick foundations) Chanel, and bunch of other great companies have them... a good MUA should have knowledge of that.

    good luck, dear!

From the pic that you posted it does not look bad. Is it airbrush? I hear airbrush looks much lighter. If your artist has that as an option maybe you should try that out.

I wear makeup daily (foundation, contour, blush, liner, mascara- the works) but never had it professionally done. even i freaked out during my first trial because i wasn't expecting see all that makeup. on my wedding day my mom freaked out after her makeup was done (it looked caked on up close under the harsh bathroom lights lol), but she looked gorgeous from several feet away and flawless in all the pictures!

It's airbrush paint but she uses a brush to apply. She said it works best in her opinion and she does makeup for TV. Hopefully I can tell her to lighten up a bit on foundation and blush. I'm just scared bc she said "I'll make it more of a WOW factor on your day" great.

Don't feel bad, FH said the same thing about my makeup in our E-pics, he actually said I looked BAD. Here is a pic of me in my normal makeup, and a pic of me on our E-pic day. DRASTIC difference. I have to admit, I loved my E-pic makeup and truly had never felt prettier.

I think your makeup looks great. Just remind him that it is necessary or you will look like a ghost in your pictures.

FH was horrified to see my makeup and hair trial. He was actually a bit hurtful about it tbh (the hair WAS bad to be fair). BUT he admitted the makeup looked really good in our engagement photos and you couldn't even see it on camera. I tried to take it as a compliment that he prefers my bare face haha. Men are just weird about things like that; if it's a stranger, they can't even tell she's wearing makeup and love it, but when it's their own gf, they don't like it.

@Lyla so true. Every time I get gussied up my FH asks me why I am putting on makeup and that he thinks I look more beautiful without. I have to explain to him every time that I don't put on the makeup for him, I put it on for myself. It makes ME feel good.
