So we are getting married in a Botanic garden, which will require guests to take a short stroll from the entrance of the gardens to the ceremony site (there is a tram for those who cannot walk the distance, so this issue does NOT relate to tram riders).
We are trying to make the stroll as easy as possible for everyone so they know where to go.
1. Wedding website has picture and name of ceremony pavilion2. Invite contains pavilion name3. At main entrance of gardens there will be a rather large welcome sign (they won’t miss it), and a basket of maps (on back of map is ceremony program), which highlights the main locations during the evening (ceremony location, cocktail hour, reception, kids room).4. The venue will have a person at the main entrance who will also guide people in the correct direction.
Which brings me to #5: we are going to add signs to the route, so people know they’re heading in the right direction.
The signs aren’t huge. I’m guessing 2’ long and 6” tall. Long and skinny. Enough for a big arrow to point the way.
WHAT WE NEED YOUR INPUT ON (this is so ridiculously small but FH and I can’t agree) is what text should we put inside the arrow?
FH wants “Jackson Wedding” which seems like a lot of text for a small sign but he thinks guests will need this to know the sign is for them.
I think it should just show “ J + M” (his initial of first name plus my initial of first name). I figured with all of the navigation methods we’ve already provided people will figure it out and know the sign is for our wedding.
What do you think?
