Festivities Timeline

Paulette, on September 9, 2019 at 5:01 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

So, there are only 223 days left and I am freaking out because it seems like there is so much to do and so little time. I want to do a timeline of the things we have to do but I'm stuck. The timeline I'm thinking of is basically like the one they give you in all the bridal magazines except I want to add the bridal shower, bachelor/bachelorette parties, etc. so that everything will be in place. My MOH and a bridesmaid are getting together to brain storm, do DIY projects, and plan but I am going crazy!!! I just don't want to be in a bind and feel like I will be. How have you all handled stressing/freaking out? Have you all done a timeline that incorporated all of your festivities?

I am also a list writer and note taker....lol... I own so many notebooks. I created a monthly plan for my wedding planning. I listed what I wanted to find, do, purchase, get done, and make on a monthly basis. My bridal party knows what months I need to have certain things done (dress purchases, bridal shower, decor).

I agree with Shayna and Leticia. Lists keep me organized and allow me to go back and look at what's been done vs what still needs to be done. Our wedding is pretty low-key. We've got the venue set. Photographer set. We need to buy the decor, get the serve ware/cutlery and things like that. We also have to book a bartender to service our reception. Our officiant has been sourced. Since we're doing a late night ceremony/cocktail reception, we've formulated a tentative list of food/drinks we wish to serve at our wedding. So there's nothing we can do in terms of the food right now. Bakery has been chosen and secured for our cake. Still browsing invitations but I've found two that I really like on Vistaprint. I'll probably order those early November, just to have them here at home for mailing when it's time. Bridesmaids dresses are not yet purchased, neither are the groomsmen attire either. That'll come within the next 3 months hopefully. I would say January the latest, everyone should have their clothes. I still haven't gotten my wedding dress, and I'm looking for cheap options, as I don't care much about the dress. I found my hair dresser, not yet MUA unfortunately. My advice to you would be to make a list as a word document that you can add, omit or replace various tasks. That will surely keep you organized and in the know. Excel is a great tool as well. Ensure major vendors have already been contacted by this point, Month Twin! LOL that will definitely lessen stress. Have a solid team you can count on when you're overwhelmed. Take periodic breaks from wedding planning- it can become too much at times. Wishing you all the best, Paulette!Smiley heart

I found the Knot checklist to be very helpful. You can add and take away items and change the dates of items as well.
