Female version of an usher?

njbride, on September 15, 2014 at 1:21 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 3

Hi all. Having a wedding party issue. I thought I was only having my close friends in my bridal party, but there are other women I would like to include. Can I create another roll such as a female usher to have them included?

I just gave my ushers a boutonniere. That's the only thing that separated them from regular guests- that and they asked to help seat people at the door.

You could give them some other role- help decorate, take down ceremony decor afterwards, do a reading, say grace before dinner, hand out programs, manage ceremony music, be the liaison between the guys/girls when getting ready and starting the ceremony, light the candles before your grand entrance....there are lots they could still be involved with.
