Feel like i bought my dress too soon!

Kimberly, on December 9, 2019 at 9:38 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

I fell in love with this dress, couldn't stop thinking about it for weeks, and bought it in early November. For the past couple weeks or so, I have been thinking maybe I would have liked something with a little more "poof" and where I wouldn't have to worry about my figure so much, even though I love accentuating the waist...I tried on several different dresses and in the moment, I was all about this dress..Would a bridal over-skirt be possible on this dress? Would it look awkward? It might totally ruin that beautiful design down the front. I don't think I could do anything underneath as it it has those side cutouts that extend through the back. It is a fit and flare style but I told the consultant I intended to have it altered a little looser than the stock photo. The sample I have on is a 12 or 14 I think, I ordered a size 10. Maybe I should have gotten a ballgown style with a tighter waist if I didn't want to worry about the rest of my figure!? Ahh! I have seriously considered going shopping to try on more dresses..My wedding is Aug 29 2020.

Maybe you could add a petticoat slip that would make the bottom a little Fuller. Otherwise I the dress is stunning and it looks beautiful on you. Adding too much, could take away from the dress. Either way, you'll be a beautiful bride🥰😊

That’s the route I feel like I will end up taking - seems like the most affordable option as opposed to crazy alterations or even finding a new dress. Thank you!!

Thank you - and yeah, maybe I just need to stop watching so much say yes to the dress, and unfollow all the designers on Instagram now lol

You definitely didn't buy too soon if your wedding is in August 2020. I bought mine in May and my wedding is also August 2020- I felt really guilty afterwards for not taking my time and I ended up shopping more after. It was playing with fire- but ultimately I found I still loved my dress more than any others. If you need to keep shopping to confirm your decision then do it- but be prepared to buy another dress if you find one you love more. if you cant afford to do that then don't shop again!

I love your dress! It’s beautiful!

Maybe your bridal shop has an overskirt to try, just to see how it would look. But I think it looks great as is.

I just bought this same dress this weekend! I tried it on with tulle petticoat at the bottom. It really added some flare that I was looking for. I am going to have my seamstress add tulle under the underlayer to add some fullness at the bottom.
You look fabulous by the way!
