Favors?

Jennifer, on March 25, 2022 at 6:35 AM Posted in Planning 15 26
What are favors are you planning to give on your guests on your big day? I don't want to spend on whole ton on it for the favors not to be taking on thrown away

Snack boxes! Inside will have little baggies of goodies and a small water bottle. Two of the bags will have “his fav” “her fav” stickers on them. Something fun that no one will feel obligated to keep

We aren't doing favors (it's a destination wedding and I don't want to ship them or travel with them), but I will be honest and say I'm not a huge fan of non-edible favors. Maybe it's just because of where I live, but I have more koozies, stemless wine glasses, and coasters than I know what to do with. The best favor I've ever gotten from a wedding was a decorated sugar cookie and it doubled as our end of the night snack!

I am going to tie liquid IV's to water bottles with stickers that I'll print at home and put on the water bottles. Mine and my FH's family loves to have a good time so I think it's something people will actually use/don't have to keep track of since it's a one time use. Also relatively cheap compared to other favors since water bottles are super cheap and I bought the liquid IV in bulk

We're opting to provide a few late night snacks and more dessert options in lieu of favors. Maybe a photo booth if it's in the budget at the end. The general wisdom is that favors should be something consumable since they tend to get left behind or ignored. I do like Melissa's idea of water bottles and liquid IVs since open bars can lead to painful next days lol.

We're having a venetian table for dessert as part of our catering package- our venue coordinator let us know it was the only part of the catering that could be sent home with guests, so we're putting boxes at the table so everyone can make their own desert box with what they want to take home.

I am doing cookies - but that is because I want to use them as a place setting since catering is using disposables and there will not be place setting. Otherwise I would not have done any favors

We're doing chocolates. The town I grew up in is the location of the US manufacturer for a European chocolate company, so to bring a bit of my hometown to our wedding on the other side of the country we are either, a) making little bags to have at everyone's seat or b) doing almost like a candy bar where we'll have a bunch of different flavors and little bags that you can pick and choose. Either way, we're picking our favorite flavors together.

At weddings we have attended, all favors including edibles go untouched. That’s before adding in expensive packaging. We decided to skip them entirely. Save your money and put it towards food/bar/dj that your guests will notice and appreciate or put it towards photos/video for your memories.

We decided to opt out on favors. We felt it wasn't worth our money and the idea is cute and some come up with some cool ideas but favors are the last thing on our minds and something simple we can cut out of the budget.

I personally am against favors, as most people won't take them or will throw them out immediately. We are having a cookie table, which is a regional tradition, and our "favors" will be cookies that they can take from the table.
