Favors

Elizabeth, on January 31, 2021 at 8:27 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 24
So I've been thinking about my favors for a long time, since we had to postpone! I've been tossing around the idea of lotto tickets in personalized bags. It would cost about $500 to get the bags and tickets to go in them. I was also thinking, since we have a pretzel/coffee cart on the way out, to do personalized pretzel bags instead, which would only cost $130. Any thoughts/advice? I'm kind of stuck and I don't know what to do.

Honestly I think lotto tickets is a bit weird. I think favors should be a little reminder of you as a couple, not just giving a gift for the sake of it. I prefer the personalised bags for the pretzels idea. Or maybe you could do personalised coffee cup sleeves for each person?

We didn’t want favors that would just be left behind so we’re having edible favors. Plan on serving chocolate covered toffee during turn dancing.

I definitely wouldn’t spend $130 for something that’s literally meant to go in the trash. A favor should be a gift for your guests, I don’t think a pretzel bag with your name on it is a great “thank you.” I honestly think the pretzels are good enough on their own. Save the money.

I’d be so excited to get a pretzel and coffee for the road. If you’re stuck on the idea of doing something in addition, what about something that goes with pretzels? Like a little jar of local mustard, or fancy salt?

Our favors are candy. We’re doing a big candy bar and having boxes and let everyone get there candy before they leave. We’re opening it up after we cut the cake so they can get it anytime before they leave.

Do edibles and prepare for many leftovers or skip them and save your money. No one will miss them if you dont have any

If you're going to do favors at all (we skipped them), I'd prefer the pretzels. I LOVE pretzels. (Hi, I grew up by Philly, can you tell?)

Edible favors are less likely to be wasted money.

    ...Now I want a pretzel.

Unless the lotto was a known theme or inside joke with you or your friends, I would just go with the pretzels

They do reflect us as a couple, its something we love to do together and we buy them for eachother to make the other happy. It was a cute lucky in love idea but thanks for your opinion!

😄 our cart is part of our package at our venue so its not costing us extra so it will be there anyway. I just thought of using that as a favor would be good. Maybe instead of the bags. Do a sign for the cart itself? Its for hot cocoa, coffee, and pretzels.

    My family LOVES scratch offs!
Instead of the personalized pretzel bags can you put a scratch off with each one? Mix the ideas some how, lol.
But really even without any personalization to the bags/containers the pretzels and coffee are fine.

I would skip favors all together. I definitely would not spend $130 on favors. Most guests leave without them anyway and no one would miss them.

I'd prefer edible favors, even though I LOVE scratch offs, but I know several people who don't feel the same way about scratch offs as I do.

For our favors my mom and I are planning on learning how to make homemade limoncello and bottling them in little single serve bottles, our venue package also comes with a huge venetian table, and its one of the only food items the venue is allowed to send home with people so we are also planning on getting little boxes so guests can take some deserts home with them!

I think the pretzels themselves are a good favor! My fiancé's family is from the Pittsburgh area which has a cookie table tradition, so for our favors I'm either getting a personalized stamp off Etsy or having stickers make to kinda personalized some bags or boxes for guests to take what they want home. Simple & not something that'll get tossed in a drawer and forgotten 😋

I think the pretzels themselves are enough of a favor to begin with! No need to spend the extra money. As a guest, I would be thrilled to receive a pretzel as a favor at a wedding. I would probably eat it immediately.

I think they are both great ideas. Edible favors always are the best option because most of them get taken or ate before the guests leave. I think the lottery tickets are also great, someone can get real lucky and win some money so that's always good. Since you are already having pretzels there I'd go with the lottery tickets.

I don't think the tickets are weird they are unique but Im sure they will be a big hit especially if people win money. Who doesn't want a chance to win money. Lottery tickets are way better than anything customized with the couples name and wedding date on it. More than half of anything with the bride and grooms name and wedding date on it are left behind. Such a waste of money. No offense to anyone doing the customized gift. The pretzel is nice too. Edibles are always the best way to go as well, can't go wrong with food.
