Favors Quantity

ashley, on July 1, 2019 at 3:43 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11

We decided on doing favors since they turned out to be a lot cheaper than we imagined.

if you did favors, did you order the exact amount for the guests? or did you account for under/over the guest list? we considered ordering under since I know sometimes people dont take items, but also dont want it to be one of those situations where people that do want one dont get it.

I think this really depends on what the favor is and how you plan to distribute it. For example, if you're doing koozies and just putting them in a basket at the bar, I would order under. If you're doing individually wrapped cookies and putting them at each place setting, I would order just the right amount or even a few extra in case some get damaged in transport. We're doing blankets for our favors and we ordered enough for about 75% of our guest list.

We are doing koozies at each setting so we ordered a few extra. I agree with Caytlyn though that it depends on what and how. We're also doing a candy buffet and purchased bags that will go in a basket near the candy so we didn't get more than needed knowing that not everyone will take a bag.

I probably wouldn't order more, unless its something you just think your guests will rave on and on about and want multiple.

We are doing koozies and bootle openers along with chapstick. We planned on serving can beers in koozies so make sure people use them, but leaving others out on a separate table. We are expecting 120ish people, planned on ordering 100 of each thing.

To me, the quantity depends on how you present the favors. If you have them in a basket or container for guests to grab on the way out the door I think you could get away with ordering less than the number of guests you have. If, however, you are putting them on the tables at each place setting, I would recommend that you get one for each person attending. People don't want to be those people who didn't get them- even if they don't hold on to them forever or choose to take them home. Another thing to think about is the number of items that come in a package. If you have 103 guests and your favors come in packs of 100, I would not order 2 packages because you'd be left with 97 extra favors. In this case I would order one package and not place them on the tables- but have them handy for guests to grab them out the door. If they are cheap enough, I would order a few more than the number of guests. We were told 10% more.

We guessed 75 when we ordered favors. We are expecting 73. Knowing people leave stuff behind I’m not worried. Hahahah

We ordered enough for everyone, however, we are just doing personlized hershey kisses in a little bag so it was ok to buy as much as we did.

Depends on the favor and when exactly you order them. Ours is gonna be over simply because the canning jars are already in our possession for Jordan almonds and I need enough shot glasses as they are for seat assignments. I can't wait til final head count to order. I am okay if we get declines and end up having extra shot glasses to add to our home. I wouldn't order over your initial guest list number though; again depending on what the favor is. Many favors have to be ordered in bulk so you might have over anyway just to accommodate the number you need (say you have 115 but it comes in bulk for 130).

We ordered for the amount we are inviting. This is because we are expecting about 10 No's and we also expect that not all guests will take the favor therefore we will have some extra. However, we ordered just enough so if those who we believe will RSVP No actually say yes.

We ordered slightly over because our guest list wasn’t finalized when I ordered. Ours are photobooth picture holders that can also be used as bookmarks, and they will be at each place setting with a thing in the letting guests know about the photobooth! extras will be on the table next to the photobooth if anyone wants more than one Smiley smile
