All this time i thought in lou of favors I was going to donate the money I would be spending on favors to charity instead. I had the 2 charities picked out, I was going to display a sign saying where we donated to infront of the card box. We are already have sugar coated almonds in a small tulle bag...

I had the 2 charities picked out, I was going to display a sign saying where we donated to infront of the card box. We are already have sugar coated almonds in a small tulle bag for each place setting because of our religious tradition, but now hearing some family members talk about what favors they expect from me, I'm wondering if I should just buy favors instead. Thoughts???

I've been to weddings where the couple made a donation to a charity in lieu of favors. They printed a small card and left it at each table. I didn't think anything of it other than "oh how sweet" because it was a local animal shelter. I say go for it. Especially since the charities you're selecting have special meaning. You can consider the almonds as a favor if you'd like. Or you can follow my logic and say the reception is the thank you and that's enough 😊 we are skipping favors entirely. In my opinion, couples already pay enough to ensure their guests are properly fed and hosted. An additional favor is completely optional and most do not take them anyway.

Favors are always optional. Don’t let the added pressure shift your decision.

Are they Jordan almonds by any chance?? Lol that was my first thought from your description. Reminds me of all the arabic weddings I went to growing up.

Also, I think your idea sounds wonderful!
